  1. Very nice, but one word of advice, the tanktop transfers are a bit old it seems, and don't adhere well to the matte paintfinishes, I had to redo it, and first spray a clear highgloss coat on, then apply transfer, then finish with petrol resistant matte clearcoat. Cheers, Lex First picture with clearcoat under the transfer, second one of transfer that didn't adhere well. also placement sizes from my NOS tank.
  2. No more pictures/updates??? Cheers, Lex
  3. Yes, I meant postwar civvy, I can detect some Thriumph red in one of the holes! Lex
  4. Thanks, then maybe some civvy one, and painted green. Lex
  5. Thanks Ron, it doesn't look modified, but maybe from a TRW or so? Will look at some pictures later. Cheers, Lex
  6. Hi all, anyone recognizes this mudguard stay? Came in with some other stuff. Cheers, Lex
  7. Just only saw this, I don't know about the flexible spouts, but had the transfers repro'd for the Wesco folding spout oil cans for motorbikes. Does anyone knows the significance of the different colours the cans were painted? dark yellow was 50 weight oil I believe, and copper plated was for shock absorbers?? And then there's the silver ones, they seem to have been used from 1939 to 1942. Cheers, Lex
  8. Still looking, and asking Barry, what about a complete G3WO in parts, with a tank? Cheers, Lex
  9. I made a thing for my engraving machine to engrave the text, but stopped experimenting when I bought 150 originals. Lex
  10. Clip taillamp cable to mudguard 4 pieces, Pt No. BML41 illustration No. 27, exactly the same as BSA and Nortons, can be bought repro from Draganflies (stainless, and no lettering) and original from John O Brien. They came in black and cad plated. the other things to hold the wiring to the frame was a brass long clip, 2 used. Cheers, Lex
  11. John, thanks for attending, I only met Bob twice or so, and only heard this morning of his passing. But he made a lasting impression on me, especially last time when I stayed in their house, and if you didn't know Gwen was blind, you would not notice! I heard she's doing ok. Cheers, Lex
  12. Great send off for an ex DR, Bob Conway, met him in 2017, and talked to him about his experiences, very impressive, he liked Matchlesses!! https://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/18649466.hearse-carrying-normandy-veteran-bob-conway-passed-trowbridge-town-centre-making-way-west-wiltshire-crematorium-semington/ https://www.trowbridge.gov.uk/2020/07/22/tributes-paid-to-d-day-veteran/ I see some familiar faces there on the bikes! Cheers, Lex
  13. A pile of parts will still be over 10K, that's the problem I guess...... Cheers, Lex
  14. What a bummer!!! I usually do the spoke stuff myself, and take many pictures of how it was before dissasembly, bought a cast iron truing stand at Beaulieu years ago for 50 quid, and it sure gets some use! Cheers, Lex
  15. The framenumber is on the front of the headstock, usually not stamped very clearly, so easily painted over. It will be in the 302X-303X range though. Contract is the last contract, but is not 1946, this has put people on the wrong path for many times! Cheers, Lex
  16. Nice! were all sprockets always cad plated? Cheers, Lex
  17. Surplus to requirements is a 1940-1942 C10 rear hub, with sprocket, 2 bearing cups, of which one is pitted, 10 used spokes, and a worn loose sprocket, someone here was looking for 2 of these, but cannot find the post anymore? Cheers, Lex
  18. Pictures don't work? can you send them please to welbike@welbike.net? I'm near Opheusden tomorrow, so could come and have a look. Cheers, Lex
