  1. OK, here's some more, 3 Australian ones.
  2. The AJS is owned by the well known Captain J.J. Hall (a relative Chris?) there's also a 1902 Matchless and a 1919 Scott, the Flea is also owned by the Captain, it's his private collection, and the Flea was used by him, to demonstrate it to the troops, it presumably was given by the factory, same as the one for Arthur Bourne that Jan mentiones above. so I have no idea where Captain Hall lived?? a quick internet search doesn't come up with much, except this, wonder who bought it 10 years ago??? https://www.lotsearch.net/lot/the-captain-j-j-hall-archive-1910s-1950s-40897975?perPage=80 There might be more in the VMCC library? Cheers, Lex
  3. It's not likely to be a military depot, the Flea, read above, was not in the military, but civvy registered, so must have gone to all sorts of places with bikes. Cheers, Lex
  4. I have many more pictures if interesting I can post here too?, did on FB earlier this year. here the only Kiwi pictures I have. Cheers, Lex
  5. Here's some pictures of 741's in Polish service in Italy, they certainly had loads of them! sorry for the quality, but that's all I have. Cheers, Lex
  6. I may have it, but going out of the door now, will check later, please remind me if I forget! Lex PS, I had it already on file! December 1943. (that's not what you wanted to hear I guess....)
  7. Ah, that would save me a load of hassle, if you can post the measurements here, that I can keep it on file for the future. Cheers, Lex
  8. Unfortunatly he's not good at inches, and on special request he did the drawing of the mag platform in inches and milimeters, no spindle drawings though, it's a quite elaborate afair, with a groove for the special washers, I sent you some NOS ones off, that make the "clicks" on the damper knob, also it has a hex on the end, for adjustment, not a square like so many other forks. All threads are BSC 26tpi. Lex
  9. Steve, I might have kept one for sample purposes, that I could measure, but last time I searched I didn't find it, did you ask the Norwegian, Arne if he has a drawing of it?? he made about 80-100 drawings over the years, of all sorts of Matchless parts, he only does email, I will see if I have anything though. 10. Steve, sorry, but I never researched this topic, I know, it's stupid, but I just use the right jet and throttle cut off and other stuff, and it works all the time.
  11. Ron, I had already said that above!! But so they are the wider "heavyweight ones, maybe from the Sunbeam bike ? Cheers, Lex
  12. I just got word that the Flea in the article still exists and the logbook for it was first issued to Arthur Bourne!!! Cheers, Lex
  13. No, the picture is real!! here the complete scans of the Blue un article. Lex
  14. Yes, now you mention it!! but it looks to me like they fitted a pair of Teledraulics on a prewar Squariel. here another picture of the same bike in some army trials. Have more pictures of this same bike, but not very clear, have to order the whole series I guess. Lex
  15. Here's the whole picture, but I will ask a friend if he can come up with a high res. scan. Lex
  16. Ok learned something again!! pictures should work now?? Lex
  17. 1939 G3WO's had a Lucas horn, but that is not the G3 we're talking about, it's the one with the split front downtube. Lex
  18. OK, could be, I tried to look it up on Simon's website, but he has taken the parts bit off altogether, so cannot compare all the parts lists real quick. But I'm not sure if the G3's had Lucas horns, does it state that in the P/L's? Later G3L's surely did have other types, I never said they didn't. Pictures of G3WO horns from 1940 Cheers, Lex
  19. There were never any brass petrol or oil caps. (period) Cheers, Lex
  20. Sorry to confuse the subject, but all G3WO's and early G3L's had the HF 180 Clearhooters, and the very early G3WO, had a different type, with the little screws on the front, forgot the type, but same as on my WD-C enfield. Cheers, Lex
  21. Haha, Ron, well you sell yours on the UK market, and I'll try on the continent! Cheers, Lex
