  1. I can't answer any of the questions here, Ron is much better at that, but I do have a spare 3HW rear rack for sale if anyone needs it, it's rusty, but restorable as they say, can take pictures if needed. (if I can remember where it is now) Cheers, Lex
  2. Nice Steve, ofcourse we've already discussed it, and some parts are waiting for you here. Keep up the good work! Lex
  3. Nice one! I saw there was a postwar one on Ebay, it went for 72 pounds or so. Cheers, Lex
  4. Yes, I get your point, but that here is highly illegal, to stamp any numbers in a frame, or alter in any way, people with Willys jeeps and Harleys have a hard time, but it gets done I guess. Lex
  5. That's just incredible!!! and even quite current too! I know for a fact hundreds of Harley WLA's have the same "frame" number in Holland, as they never had a frame number, they took the casting number of the headstock, but that was just after the war. The Dutch DVLA (RDW) still have big problems when you turn up with one of these, and there's no number! Cheers, Lex
  6. Thanks Jan, for confirming my thoughts! Cheers, Lex
  7. I don't know, but there is a rivet, you'd have to grind it off, or drill it out from the inside, and find a blind rivet to replace it, or have a little bolt turned with a round flat head to replace it. Lex
  8. I had a look at my parts lists, as far as I know, only one number for James and Flea, but I don't have all of them, is there someone who has the missing one(s)?? Flea Contract Part No. S831 ? C14775 ? S1945 ? (only have the 1943 price list for this) S6602 MT12/VS/V496E S7112 MT12/VS/V496E James Contract Part No. S1718 ? S1833 ? S1972 MT12/VS/V496E S5571 MT12/VS/V496E S6603 ? S7173 ? S8236 ? 1947 civvy Maze Type Cheers, Lex
  9. It could just be a piece of dirt on the negative, never seen one with 3 rivets! and it's not neccesery for the aplication either. See pictures of the internal framework on an original filter, and the rivets on my filter, that is 100% original, bought from Villiers services 20 years ago when they had 3-4 NOS ones, and I bought them all, well for 10 quid a piece, I could not let them fester away in their dusty bins.... Lex
  10. I'm not so sure if I look at the original picture though?? Looked at all my other pictures too, and cannot find another with the 2 bars, will take a picture of a dissasembled one though. Cheers, Lex
  11. Ok, there must have been 2 types then, but I thought you added one of Arnauds plates to one of your filters? Lex
  12. I will check mine, but Ron, the one on your Flea is modified I seem to remember. Lex
  13. I got these pictures, think 2? everybody turns the rivets to the underside, where you can't see them! Cheers, Lex
  14. Yes, I have done that joke hundreds of times, love it to wind people up! Lex
  15. It's a replica Ron, so not worth a lot anyways. Lex
  16. As soon as it's possible Ron! but now the Hull-Rotterdam ferry has ceased passenger travel, maybe that will happen for Dover-Dunkirk aswell?? Sure hope not!! Cable routing, there's black tape on the clutch cable and frame as you can see on my B/W picture above, all original paint WB's have this, so is a factory thing. Lex
  17. Much, much better Ron!!! am I allowed on the premises again to point out more inacuracies???? Still working on the last 3 Welbikes of a batch of 10, slowly getting there! Cheers, Lex
  18. Well, end of first day sale, there were more the next day, but my experience in sales, (French Military sales) is that the prices go up at the end of the sale, not down. Cheers, Lex
  19. Ok, here you go, the front, 1st page and page 35. Hope this helps, Lex
  20. Probably not, with my new laptop I cannot use my old scanner anymore! but I can take a picture, send me the details again please. Sorry, Lex
  21. You are right Ron, I am a member of at least 40 FB pages, and it's really too time consuming, and you miss a lot too, but on the other hand I find a lot of parts and period pictures on there, but the average member there doesn't know anything about anything, so same questions over and over again, as it's not searchable by topic, very tedious, but the ups are still better than the downs, so will persevere for a while. Cheers, Lex
  22. Not mine, not sure what's going on? Lex
  23. Yes, don't know either when the change to bare bodies came, but have noticed an inbetween finish, of only a clear varnish on certain bodies, especially 275 G3L ones, that I have, maybe they thought the bare metal was going to oxidize quickly?? My (silver painted) Enfields WD-C carb was corroded a bit, but that bike must have been on the beach for some time, before being "rescued" by a French farmer. Cheers, Lex
  24. If prewar brass bodied, then they were matt chromed, this was used up to 1939 or so. After that the material changed to Mazak, and bodies were painted silver, this can be replicated in two pack silver paint, followed by two pack clear varnish, but it will turn yellow over time due to the agressive fuel these days. In the beginning of the war all other brass fittings were still matt chromed, later this was just bare brass. Cheers, Lex
  25. Jan has made the headlamp stays before, for me and others, but I found an original set, and sold the repro's on again last year.
