  1. Nice! so what makes you think it was a Military bike? remains of green paint? As Ron said, pay the price, and ask the owners club for info, I'm at a loss here. Cheers, Lex
  2. For 1936 there must have been enough in service to warrant the printing of a spares list. It may be a model G7?? any pictures? Cheers, Lex
  3. Yes, now that I have the Norton clip in my hand, there's only a small rivet holding it together. Thanks, Lex
  4. I don't think the parts list is right here, haven't checked my P/L's yet though. what is the hole size in the forks?, the rear chainguard is 1/4" from the top of my head? Lex
  5. Ah, now we're getting somewhere! thanks to all involved so far! I will measure the Norton one also, thing is, they're not easy to find! Lex
  6. Thanks Ron, Steve will have to try and make a picture! he's talking about it, but we rivet counters like to get it 110% correct! Cheers, Lex
  7. Is there anyone here, who has an original cable holder for the 2 wires to the headlamp? it's a bit like the Norton one, but less the clip. Please post a picture, or if you have one for sale, let me know. Cheers, Lex
  8. OK, here's some more 741's. This time a lone South African one. Lex
  9. I just sold the last ones to Tom! but I think they are the same as the postwar ones? Cheers, Lex
  10. It was a case of she or the bikes..... (yes there's more, and in the winter also a Howitzer, I see it as art, expensive art even!) Lex
  11. Interesting stuff guys!! I am about to order all the Stilltime pictures, this is an incredebly large amount of money, and that's why I have been putting it off for some years, but the prices are only going up, so If I have them, I can share them, if people are willing to pay some money for the scans. Cheers, Lex
  12. I have run out of my repro's, sold the last one recently, if enough interest I can make more, but they sell very slow, and it's costly to have them made. So not sure if I will fork out close to a thousand pounds to have 10 sets made again. Note these are very different to normal WD bike grips. Cheers, Lex
  13. When I'm not riding it, it lives there permanently! together with some other toys. Cheers, Lex
  14. The above is the right drawing for the dummy axle for the G3WO. Arne Erikson made it. Cheers, Lex
  15. Ok, but compared with the rear axle the front is a doddle! Lex
  16. Cheers Ron, I just cannot get to my bike right now! now it's up to someone to make drawings of everything, I have invited Arne here, who has made lot's of drawings already, so I presume he can make these too, and a big oversight one, to see what goes where would be handy! I guess for the time being I can modify the above one, as it's not complete. Lex
  17. Nuts need to made also, I have a drawing for those too. Lex
  18. That leaves us number one, (part No. 10086) but I don't have one on the loose, the i/d. must be 11,15mm. and o/d. 3/4" but the length I cannot measure, maybe Ron? this spacer goes between the right hand frame fork and the (longer?) end of the bearing. But looking at the axle diagram from 2 pages back, there is another spacer on the outside of the r/h. frame fork?? (part No. 37-8-H4) but this could be a prewar thing? No, just looked at the factory picture, and we need one of these on our bikes, so who has one?? i/d. will again be 11,15mm. o/d. will be 7/8" but what about the rest, it could be the same as a frame to engine spacer?, can someone look up the numbers? the part No. for this part on the axle is 36-8-H16. Cheers, Lex
  19. OK, back to the spacers, I only have these 2, here situated on the dummy spindle, so asume the bigger one goes between frame and brake plate, and thin one between hex nut and frame, this nut is quite thin too. The big spacer dimensions are 1" x 16,2 x 12,5mm. wide (sorry no solid inch sizes.) (part No. 37-8-B54) The smaller one 1" x 16,2 x 2,1mm. wide. (part No. STD-176) We're getting there I guess, Lex
  20. Thanks for this, will order one! My interest is more on allied bikes, but still.... Cheers, Lex
  21. Lubberly Jubberly, altough Spike Milligan was even more racist! he's my hero! (mind you not because of that! ) Lex
  22. You sound exactly like Benny Hill !!! He was sort of Dutch!
  23. OK, first things first!!! Janet would never allow you to do that Ron!!! if you say otherwise, I'm the next to try it out! Jan, your eyes are very good! I scraped the sticker off in the meantime, did not like it there. Cheers, Lex
