  1. One large spanner and a well used tool roll.
  2. I have been looking again the first four pics I think are Bedford MJ/MK parts. I have no idea about the rubber seals.
  3. Hi good to have another contributer, they are two interesting vehicles. Now the selfish question any informaton or pictures?
  4. Does Dale at Heywood Tanks not do courses
  5. Thank you very much, it is fun getting the old grey cells working.
  6. Many transport companies have mobile 2 wheel loading ramps for dealing with containers and taught liners, they allow vehicle and forklift access.
  7. Going from memory the XK 4.2 Jaguar engine has dry liners with no holding lip. When a 4.2 gets to hot it pulls the liners down and then the engine will start using water. You will see a white vapour in the exhaust. Keeping that 4.2 J60 engine's water and oil cool is really important to get a reasonable life out of it. Going to a single carb spoilt the natural engine breathing no1 and 6 are poorly served, A 4.2 with 2 or 3 carbs breathes much better it gets more cool air in and is a much livelier engine.
  8. I was looking in the dark box today for a fuel transfer pump and found these as well.
  9. A few strategic blows with a good hammer to the drums, avoid the edges. Chock the wheels first.
  10. Hi If you want to borrow it no problem. I will P.M. you.
  11. I think I have a Mamoth Major tilt cab spare parts cataloge 6 and 8 wheeler goods chassis. If that is any good.
  12. I think the first two cars in the picture are a Humber Hawk and a Morris Minor followed by a car under a cover and then a Vauxhall Wyvern? So it has to be post 1948.
  13. That QL looks strange as if it is on steroids, with the wrong type spare wheel.Vehicle in civvy hands possibly, on 12.00 x 20s tyres, I would hazard a guess location west mid maybe Stoke area
  14. You only have to look at Tiger 131 to see with the best will in the world, Fact can be lost and turn into fiction but also can be found again and become fact. But the fact that some people ask questions and strive for perfection can sometimes make wrong right and all of the hard work worth while. I am off back to trailers.
  15. I wondered if it was something to do with the change over a couple of years ago, or photobucket. They are a miss.
  16. Please calm down, Chill out. These pictures and the thread are fantastic. To an outsider one piece of sand looks like any other, it is only when people put there mark on it that it comes to life in a different way. Reminicences and place names get easily transposed in everyday life. They at least give a starting point. If anyone is going to use information it is up to them to check for unintentional errors that may have crept in. Kuno if English is not your mother tongue you are doing a good job with it. Stay safe. Any more pictures of Diamond T's or Scammell Pioneer/Explorer Tank transporters please.
  17. If the fuel pump is for a 466 it will be overfueling bourne out by the symtome black smoke and unburnt fuel smell lingering. You would expect a puff of smoke from a Bedford as you wake the turbo up, and blue haze on tick over when cold. I used to have an MJ tipper many years ago.
  18. In the photos on the previous page the brake wheel is behind the o/side front wheel station, and in the previous one on the front corner of the deck. So if yoy say there is also a central dolly position that will make 4 brake wheel positions. In two of the photos the trailers appear to be on different tyre sizes. I presume the larger tyres were part of the upgrade package of the mk 2. Though they both seem to have the track guides that were supposed to be deleted in favour of a flat bed for multi use. American units using them as amunition carriers etc. There is a restoration blog of an m9 by dizzy-t on this forum.
  19. So that is 3 positions for the parking brake wheel on an M9. Just when it was thought we had put the thread to bed.
  20. If the 1.35 Merit model is correct the parking brake wheel has a position on the near side front, left front corner of the trailer bed as well, mounted verticaly.
  21. Wally I would aggree with you, I will stop muddying the waters. It has been fun though. So for now No Signals that is the best we can do.
  22. Wally This thread is moving forward great information comming in, great photographs. It would pin point it if we could make out if it had a side locker.
  23. Wally, I had the brake wheel and the makers of trailer the wrong way around. I think the 50 ton needs a slopping bed so that the second axle has clearance/room to move vertically, as well as ease of loading. A bit more usefull information about trailers, from the records. What would you say the latest most up to date guess is.
  24. Hi Wally It is just the image of the item bebind the first axle is so blured and indistinct it could be a wheel and tyre or something else. I await your further comments. Or it could just be my eysight.
