  5. The sump can not be welded? As it is normally a good pure quality aluminium. On my citroen 5hp engine there are several old welds visible. And holding well.

  8. nice pics, we did see a 1940s scania truck mounted on concrete block at the edge of an Portugese quarry. The rear wheels were replaced bij winch drums and they pulled big stones out with it. It still had it's cab and front axle. :nut: But helas we did forget to take a picture...:mad:

  12. It has a militairy look about it, and it's a very rare truck. Later Mathis did make trucks together with Ford called Matford.

  18. I did volunteer work ad an industry museum in the region. When they reduced the storage capacity from 30.000 sqM to 600 sqM. They just dumped a lot of great stuff in the skip....:cry:. That's museums for you....
  19. In my uncles steel company they had portable drill presses that had electro-magnetic feed so it could be hooked up in every angle on to a steel beam to drill. Would have been usefull here too :-)
  20. A carrossier showed me the trick with soap. He did draw stripes with a piece of soap on the aluminium and heated from the other side till they became brown then it was soft enough for working on it.
  21. I see several spots of red paint appearing on your pump. Has it been red once or is that anti rust paint?
  22. Engine looks rather modern for that period.
  23. Nice job, for your radiator paint try a firm that repairs radiators. In france they sometimes use barbeque paint for parts that get hot...
  24. Looks nice but is the brake lever no to much corroded? It looks very thin to me or is that just the picture?
  25. i did manage to get the rusted splitpins out of the hubs but the hubs and wheels don't move yet so probably someone else like than mounted them the wrong way.
