  1. It did recieve the radio-telephone and opened it. It is a 17 valve beast and it has 3 transistors. But more than noise isn't coming out of it yet. And it drains a lot of energy from the eletrical charger...
  2. The dino head makes a nice radiator mascot...
  3. You can have a solid part introduced in the 3d printing program it think?

  5. I found this old british transciever. The seller advertised it as an aviation radio but i am not sure. I think it is an early car-phone. Anyone know this model. I can't find almost nothing about this firm BCC. Other than it's gone up in Racal. The aluminium casing was put around by someone. Thanks
  6. As far as i know it is a rather pure aluminium. No idea of the longevity. But i think it will hold up longer than me. And if neccesary you can drill it out and put a new piece in.
  7. You could also hang this part in your christmas tree
  8. Here a way of repairing that might also be interesting for you. The aluminium dash of my 1925 Citroen has more the apearance of s swiss cheese. There were some 24 useless holes. I cant weld aluminium so i had to find another way. So i tried riveting it. Most of the holes were under 6mm and i had a 6mm rod of aluminium. The dash is 4mm thick so i cut a 5 mm piece from the rod. Drilled the holes to 6mm to a have straight and clean edges in there. Fix the dash with a clamp to the anvil, put the bit of rod in the hole and hammerd it with a bodyshop hammer. Very carefully to get even with the original dash. It worked surprisingly well. Have to get a few bigger rods for the larger holes.
  9. Were the hoops made of metal or wood at that time?

  12. The techs from the local industry museum did weld a big broken clamp of my drillpress with brass. But they had to warm up the cast iron to red hot first. It still works fine since.
  13. Well shoppers are lot more important than history.... what a nonsense.

  15. Hi Trev, The inscription sais 1 nonienteil = 1/16 dgr. So 1 stripe on the small scale is 1/16 degrees. I have found a similar one that was from 1 881 gun. They were placed on the breech area of the gun. Only difference with the other ones i found is that they are from 0 to 45 degrees, mine goes from 90 to 45 degrees. Is it possible that mine is from a mortar which is used a higher angle? See also here http://www.lovettartillery.com/Foot Artillery Gunner's Quadrant.html
