  6. Whist putting the photos back in the files i noticed this one of Walter Denton LTD
  7. Richard F i believe i promised to show this photo of the pioneer in use with E.A.R.A.T the east Anglian roadstone and transport co whilst on a road burning job in Townwall St Dover , at long last i have found said print im sure you will regonise the flats in the back ground as will many of you who have travelled abroad through the eastern docks. In the same theme a couple of road burners used by well known firm Glossop.
  8. A set of photos showing the mountaineer in service with Siddle Cook and one with Wilkie LTD extensive use of the Dyson ex military 40 ton transporter trailer here
  9. Another interesting saga in the trailer theme is radar, whilst some are quite east to identify others can be a real headache and take a lot of searching especially when the original model has been updated and in some cases altered outwardly. So to start here is a 1944 photo of the radar AA No1 MK2 ® and a either a 15 or 24 kva towed generator
  10. A nice period shot of the K2 ambulance
  11. two shots of the Bedford-Lacre runway sweeper on the RS chassis
  12. Picked up a book the other week in a remainder shop called Bearded Brigands the story of the New Zealand LRDG, amongst the super photos was this on of a Morris 15cwt water tanker and 30cwt CS/11 trucks
  13. Morris 8cwt PU, if he hasn,t blown it yet he,s about to Various morris at Calais 15cwt and 30cwt cdf, the photo caption reads Britian had no lack of transport a couple of months later that all changed
  14. Yes i noticed that, could it be Patton on a early mission or is he there to kick a--e
  15. Nice shot of pioneer towing light recovery trailer, it just says Waal bridge on the back
  16. A batch of interesting photos of British vehicles in WW2 the first taken at Haynes garage in Maidstone one of many used to service military equipment, seen in this photo a Bedford OY, Austin 8hp 2 seater and Austin Tilly. Behind are various 3 ton trucks including i think aCrossley IGL 6x4. The second is a ordanance depot early in the war depicting masses of vehicles in the park, the van in the front looks to be a requistioned Guy, to the right a Ford AA tractor unit others i can make out in the distance are Bedford OX 30cwt Austin 3 tonners, and Humber utilities. The third i am sure is taken at Howe barracks in canterbury (not sure if was named that during the time) at what i would call round the back in Military road. It has now been built up with the county court house and civic centre plus others but i remember it looking similar to this photo in the 1960s when delivering to building works then starting here but then again i maybe wrong, anyway vehicles include Ford WO1A, Guy Ant, Ford WOT3 30cwt and CMP 3 ton trucks
  17. Trevor the AV RAF numbers could have been used on FWDs post war used as generator trucks for mobile radar units
  18. Marty i am sure that is a external air filter fitted for these conditions but i maybe wrong meantime heres a photo of a M3 halftrack in Algeria fitted with anti grenade screens
  19. I,ll vouch for the Romney marsh mountain rescue team being a original flocker, the mountains go down instead of up
  20. Ted the aircraft on the trailer is a beaufort the photo is one of a set i have, i reconise the photo is one of the set i put up in another web set long ago it has a green tint and then i had not worked out the use of colour saturation and the pointer was on green hence a tinted B/W photo

  24. The truck is pretty standard but i am very interested in that semi trailer its not one i have seen before and i would like to find out its purpose, as usual half of the interesting bit is cut off. Deep in the bowls of my archive i have a late 1940s TM data book so will check this out for info
