Hitler di have such weird ideas, For Instance, in Jersey he insited that observation towers built at Mont Orguiel castle were faced with granite so as not to spoil the asthetics. At one bunker in noirmont the wall on the suken approach is covered with superbly dressed granite.

Goring wanted a large house on a big country park close to Plymouth for his hunting lodge. Pilots were told to make sure it was not touched, but was very close to the Dockyard and naval base. And one night the house was bombed. It was rebuilt, and it's called Mount Edgecomb. It was used as a D day embarkation point, as it has access to the sea. From the time of the house being bombed, the only bombs that fell on Plymouth were miles away from the house and the sea.
