ManuelK Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hello Friends, next Time i will start a Museumstour in the BeNeLux. So i will report you this too. Assessment Museum Diekirch, Luxemburg: Price : **** Translator: ****** History: Ardennenwar, ***** Vehicles: 70% US, 25% Deutsche, 5 % Übrige Collection of Weapon: ***** Accessories: ***** Dioramen: ***** ***** very good, * ok One negativ, there are to much Vehicles in a small room. But they are building a bigger place for all that. Fazit: If you like US Vehicles, all kinds of Weapons and Accessiores you have to meet this place. Also very intersting, for diorama, clothes and those stuff. The place around Diekirch is very exciting and historical. You will find a lot of memorials, tanks ( mostly sherman ), little castles and much more. More Infos click here Quote
Tony B Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Can it be done in a day trip? Or are we looking at a HMVF weekend invasion? Quote

Tony B Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Not by the time us lot have been discussing every nut and bolt! :cool2: Quote
N.O.S. Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Great review, Manuel. Good pics, showing just enough to give an idea - but not too much to spoil the surprise of a visit. Amazing how much they've managed to pack into those dioramas! Quote
Tony B Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Quick check on Via Michelin. the museum is about 46 KM from the airport. Quote
Joris Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 This museum is soooo worth a visit, they have so much stuff on display that you need a full day to see it all. Not too many vehicles though, it's more kit and equipment. I'd say you cannot do this in one day, you need more. Rent-a-house is very cheap so it won't add too much to the cost. Quote

ford 369 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 things were fairly quiet in Jersey mv wise this year but it was great to meet for the second time the commander of a ww2 German gun battery who returns to the island every year for the liberation holiday and tells of his time in the islands and of life as the commander of a wartime gun battery Nigel Quote
