Paint question.

Brians probably in the best position to answer this. On some of the photos, especially the heavy armour, there is a paint finish of grey and a red. Is that an undercoat, or anti-rust coat or a final finish? Does it have any special properties what make of paint is it?

On the German stuff Red Oxide primer was always applied at the factory prior to any camo. It was both anti-rust and a primer coat.

 

I am assuming that the grey you mention is on allied vehicles. This is not my area so I will check with Brian and Allan and see what they say

Not really. On pics of the Panther (I presume) it has a red oxide and a greypaint so is the grey aint the final coat?

On a general note, and you lot will have the piratical knowledge. what is the best stuff to use? The WS10 chassis will need priming up soon , and frankly I want to leave any respraying to my great grand kids. (Blame Piratical on the spell check, but thought freudian :-D)
