Hair Bear
Hi, In the early 1980's a farm I worked on had a trailer of a type I'd like to acquire if I can find one. Unfortunately no photos, similar to what I think is a 'British No9' but without the cross axis pivot on the front, so here goes... Pre 1980 makers plate as Taskers of Andover, 4 wheel, turntable type. 'A' frame drawbar, ring hitch, overrun brakes. 10 x 6 deck, was probably originally dropside although it only had an 18" headboard when we had it. Bar grip type tyres, possibly 750x16 but could easily have been 20", certainly on split rims. Leaf springs, If I had to guess I'd say RAF yellow in colour. Any suggestions please? rustexpert
Could the trailer you describe have been a Haslar smoke generator chassis? This picture is a stretched/lengthened bed but the original bed length was short like you describe. I posted a previous topic "Aerodrome smoke generator trailers"
Hair Bear
It's a definite possibility, although I think the drawbar fitted at closer to axle level. Must look for photos.
rustexpert
The other one has a lower drawbar, there was another one I seem to remember had a vertical adjustment for the drawbar.
