Anybody know anything more? http://www.jeepsudest.com/boutique/4-moteur-jeep-mb-gpw-m201/3163-bloc-moteur-l4-134/ Hi Tim, Just been talking to a friend in Australia, who met a jeep parts dealer today. Seems he has been in discussions with these people and has some on order at present. I understand they may also be doing gearbox casings as well. regards, Richard
Hoseman
Interesting store if you go onto the online shop. Some armour parts and a nice Mk1 British Carrier for 48,000€
N.O.S.
A discussion on g503 suggests these are being cast and machined in China by an American guy - he's spent time ensuring consistent quality of casting and CNC machining. Suitable for either gear or chain timing drive. Prices in U.S. suggested as $1900, prices from Jeepsudest Euro2300 with reduction for quantity order. A few in U.S. suggesting it is not absolutely identical to wartime blocks - but hey, if you're that bothered about casting numbers then just grind them off and stick some others on! N.O.S.
http://www.fourwheeler.com/features/1608-vintage-jeep-engine-blocks/ Thanks for that - sounds a neat solution to a worsening problem. Can anyone comment on the suggestion that it can be built up with chain instead of gears for timing?
N.O.S.
I wonder if someone in the UK will be stocking these?
Degsy
I wouldn't be surprised to see Jeeparts stocking them soon.
Richard Farrant
This is what I found on a website: Since we introduced the prototype L-134 engine blocks to the world there has been quite alot of interest. Production begins shortly and if all goes well they should be in your dealer’s hands by January. These blocks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the product line being worked on. Now who are your dealers? For Europe, the UK and Scandanavia exclusively through:
Degsy
It does appear from that website that they will be offering a discount to stockists.
