Citroman
Hello i did find this very well made toy gun on a german fleamarket. It's about 40cm long and made of thick steel with very nice formed tyres made of pertinax or something like that. My question is it a replica of some real gun or is it just imagination of the maker? I managed to release the sping plunger in the barrel but all the rest (wheels and elevation screw)is still rusted solid. Regards Fer
Tony B
Germany was famous for tin plate and metal toys. That suggests late 20's early 30's from the basic design. Any name or marks on it?
Citroman
No helas no marks on it. And it isn't tin plate eather the shield and frame are made of 2mm steel and the barrel seemed to be turned on a lathe. Maybe there is a toymaker that made such solid work? commander
Sorry to hijack your thread but I see that the tyres are going in opposite directions is this right ?. The reason I ask on my 76mm Cannon they are fitted like that also and I was wondering if this is correct ?. Commander
rnixartillery
Chris, The tyre treads should run the same way, Attached pic of one of my old 76's, the tyre's were the same on both guns. Rob........................rnixartillery.
Citroman
i did manage to get the rusted splitpins out of the hubs but the hubs and wheels don't move yet so probably someone else like than mounted them the wrong way.

Rob........................rnixartillery. Hi Rob thanks for the info . I do not fancy taking one of the tyres off and changing it around in case I bugger it up. Do you have a clear picture of the sight bracket and sight because the one I have is missing these parts thanks chris
