Great War truck
I found this link on Landships and thought it well worth reposting here. There really are not many surviving tracked prime movers from WW1, but it is amazing what still turns up (in France). http://www.maquetland.com/article-phototheque/7385-schneider-cd2-montpellier
Great War truck
I presume that all of the rocks balanced on the tracks were there to hold down a now long rotted away tarpaulin - as opposed to either a poor attempt at camouflage or to stop the thing blowing away. g0ozs
This looks closely related to the Schneider tank !
Sean N
This looks closely related to the Schneider tank ! Same chassis, I believe. I presume that all of the rocks balanced on the tracks were there to hold down a now long rotted away tarpaulin - as opposed to either a poor attempt at camouflage or to stop the thing blowing away. Chap's got to keep his rocks somewhere... Edited January 10, 2015 by Sean N

Great War truck
Just found some photos on Landships of it partially restored and at Retromobile: Looks rather nice. I wonder if it is running. More photos here: http://www.guide-automobiles-anciennes.com/VOITURE/tracteur-schneider-cd2-3387.htm After photos of this survivor had appeared on the web the owner announced that he had scrapped it. I think he was bombarded with people trying to buy it. Very glad it is safe and out of the scrap yard.
ploughman
Same chassis, I believe. Chap's got to keep his rocks somewhere... Just got to watch where he gets them off.
