Markheliops
Hi all. Would any of you knowledgeable chaps be able to tell me what colour a Matilda A12 Infantry tank, rolling straight off the factory line, would be? A colour and a paint code would be most helpful. Thanks guys. Markheliops
Pzkpfw-e
In '41, it'd be straight off to the desert? http://www.mafva.net/other%20pages/starmer%20camo.htm So, either Caunter or light stone depending on when in '41 it rolled off the lines. No - Not off the factory floor - it's a shade of green..................................... Not all tanks ended up heading for the desert but I see what you're getting at. eddy8men
I also wondered if they would be desert colours from the factory but didn't know whether it was correct or not, I suppose we'll have to wait for Adrian to tell us rick
Adrian Barrell
I appreciate your faith in me Rick but I don't know the answer! If green, then presumably Khaki Green No3.

Richard Farrant
A truly detestful colour if ever there was one :-( That is a very nice shade of brown, I have a restoration in progress in that very colour, makes a change from olive drab. Markheliops
So guys - Do we have a decision on this colour or are we guesstimating!
Adrian Barrell
Hmm, deciding on a colour in a black and white print...... It can only be a guess, educated none the less! It could be Khaki Green No 3 or SCC2 Brown depending on when in 1941 it was taken. It would also depend on the factories current stock of paint on that day.
