Gordon_M
It's the Dart prototype for the contract that went to the Knuckey Dragon Wagon.

N.O.S.
Hi Tony, if you follow the link in my post (to the American Truck Historical Society), I think there is info on a couple of preserved Darts - I believe one of them is a hard cab T13 model? Gordon_M
No wonder they took it out to the desert to turn it round. I don't know what the nominal wheelbase was, but the turning circle must have been 50% bigger than the Dragon Wagon. I recall Fred Crismon commented it was a very conventional truck, and not dissimmilar to the ( Mack ? ) that eventually replaced the Dragon Wagon. Don't recall they made more than one test vehicle as Fred referred to it in the singular, though Dart did make big one off vehicles.
gritineye
No wonder they took it out to the desert to turn it round. I don't know what the nominal wheelbase was, but the turning circle must have been 50% bigger than the Dragon Wagon. Reckons that explains why the crew in the Dragon Wagon had to sit crowded round 'that terrible hot engine' as the Wynns driver called it! That's a mighty impressive truck, I could almost be tempted to in trade Forceful for one...
