Joris
On Thursday, in the backwaters of the river Warta Valentine a tank was recovered from the Second World War. This is the first tank of it’s kind in Poland and the only one in the world who took part in combat actions! Valentine managed the mining action Jacek Kopczynski of Lodz – a collector of vintage and military vehicles, one of the fathers of Veteran Vehicles Bazaar in. Jacek Kopczynski said on Wednesday that if you manage to get the Valentine it will be a sensation in the world. It’s the first tank of this type found in Poland.` http://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/valentine-tank-from-world-war-ii-found-in-polish-warta-river.html

Adrian Barrell
I don't think the Poles or the Soviets feel they owe us a thing from the war......
eddy8men
the jam rolls like to keep their stuff in country even if you find a tank and recover it you won't be allowed to leave the country with it as there's a law protecting anything pre 1945 which is considered part of their heritage. i seem to remember them asking for the littlefeild panther to be returned. rick

GeePig
Is it true that none of the other surviving valentines saw combat action during the war? I have seen a picture of a Sherman tank here in Lublin, probably from the summer of 1944. trevor
David Herbert
I'm pretty sure that the Canadian built Valentine now in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa is ex Russian and was fished out of a river in a very similar state to the Polish one so probably had a war record.
