HotBed
my master cylinder is through an inspection hatch in the footwell from memory, its a bit of a pig to get to, i put dot 4 fluid in :-) regards
Jessie The Jeep
The pressure switch is mounted on the front of the master cylinder, ahead of the brake pipe fitting. A bit of a pain to get to and needing the brakes re-bleeding each time it is changed. I've had two switches fail, possibly due to the 24 volts running through the Hotchkiss system, rather than the original 6v. Mine doesn't have any secondary brake fluid tank, nor does any Willys or Ford I've seen, so I'm guessing it's been modded by a previous owner. welshbayonetww2
definately a later addition. The master cylinder is such a *###** to get to and check levels , it was probably done to make it easier. Especially when bleeding the brakes. Ian McC
My Hotchkiss has the glass reservoir you describe and I think it was a fairly common mod in the French Army. Ian
