Snapper Posted August 9, 2012 Author Share Posted August 9, 2012 If I pick a highlight moment for my Beltring it was the British Airborne battle on the Friday. This was the first time we had an all British battle in the arena - no American units - and it was brilliant as far as I am concerned.The scenario was a sort of Normandy drop zone thing, with the Germans kicked out of a hamlet and then the airborne holding out against tougher local counter attacks until the seaborne forces arrived. They even laid on a piper. Quality! It was done with real style - no Hollywood, just drills and it looked fantastic from where I was sitting. I am not in the best of health and I was rooted to the same lump of dirt for much of it and I picked a good spot.
