getting a new red V5C log book

Hi I see that we are all getting a new red V5C log book by November 2012 under the heading that quote (we are replacing all existing blue V5Cs the new certificate is being introduced following the theft of a number of blank blue V5Cs.) i got mine today bill :nut:

So where were the "number of blank blue V5Cs" nicked from? Surely the only place they would have a "number of blank blue V5Cs" would be DVLA themselves!

Thieves got their hands on 2.2 million blank log books, or registered keeper forms, which were due to have been shredded because of a minor printing error in 2006.
