Is anybody going to this or has been to previous shows? I've got that weekend off and quite tempted to go.

Neil.

There are a number of reviews of last year's show on this thread here, http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?24641-Trucks-and-Troops-2011

Safe to say a number of people were put off after last year's show. As I mention in that thread above it was the first time I had attended and having driven 182 miles we were all done by around lunchtime and were on our way home again at 2.00pm, not something you would expect from a national show.

Might be different this year with the two shows being on a different weekends, but as BRB says above I'd save your petrol money and go to Overlord instead.

Plain Invasion is on near Andover on the same weekend (Shameless plug!). So if you get fed up at T&T, it's not far to drive to have a go at that instead.

Wait for the now national MVT show at Ashdown camp Evesham the month later, superb setting, very friendly event

I did a search for reports from previous years and it doesn't sound promising. Overlord is on during the weekend I go to Normandy and the national MVT show is on the same weekend that I'm attending A&E.

Plain Invasion sounds like a good idea to me now!

It's the werewolfs and Aliens that put the fear of got up me, Oye and guys putting things in my sleeping bag. Sorry ChrisG, I did think it was you at the time, then found out it was someone a bit closer to home (YODA)

Other than my poor taste in music, people putting stuff in your bed, werewolf phobias being had by bus driving comedy acts, cookhouse fellers that can't mash spuds unless it was done in time to "Nightboat To Cairo by Madness", and vast amounts of the wet stuff falling from above. Plain Invasion was a nice quiet family do, with small children running around in the dark with their Warpaint on carrying machine guns, and trying to hide amongst the smoke from distress flares. (We won't even mention the amount of gargle that was consumed by "The Grownups".) Hmmm, where will I be this year, T&T or Plain Invasion?:cool2:

Plain Invasion was a blast, i haven't laughed so much in ages! Got to ride around Salisbury Plains with ChrisG in his Champ, serve grub with Dave Ives and run around with a mini me in camo make up with the kids while the grown ups laid in cow pats (Tony!) waiting to ambush us! All in all a great weekend. :-D
