Matt Hope
Hi All, I have recently completed a restoration of a ex-RAF 1965 SWB Series 2A Landrover. Everything is now completed and the vehicle passed it's first MOT yesterday and is now back on the road for the first time since 1999. However, I am having no luck locating a replacement circular standard Smiths heater unit. Anyone have any ideas of where I could locate one?? ruxy
Unless it was a Car Utility (Station Wagen) - it would not have had a heater , so just remain a cold rivet counter..
Matt Hope
Thanks guys. The old one that I took out was beyond repair. I might of located a replacement but might be better off getting a bigger coat. Photo's to follow of the rebuild.
utt61
What was it that made it beyond repair? If it was the core, you do know that new replacements are available for these? At least I am sure that I have seen them advertised.
ruxy
http://www.claytoncc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=37 Clayton (more common on S1's) - they do a direct replacement heat exchanger , possibly a new Clayton is a better idea in practical terms but not period looks..
