martylee
Within a day the danish city of Fredrikshavn was both invaded and liberated. The event "Stutzpunkt Nord" showed the invasion, followed by the everyday life in the city, then moved on to the fort located on the hills outside the city. At the fort constructed by the german army during the war, we saw german troops being inspected by Rommel and planes flying over the fort while the air raid sirens screamed. At the end the allied forces showed up and the liberated danes celebrated. This is one of the better events I've been to. Marty
martylee
We came early and were lucky enough to watch the german soldiers of "Regimentet" excercise with friends before the event. These guys are dead serious about doing it the right way. I'm impressed! Marty

martylee
While the city was under occupation there were a few incidents at the curch square where a fire truck went past a control post with screaming sirens and lights. Little did the germans know it was the resistance smuggeling weapons. later there also were a bomb at the same place. Unfortunately we were stuck in a toy store at that moment! :-( At the town square people could watch the different vehicles and reenactors. martylee
Besides the reenactors, some others had dressed up as well, to show what the streets looked like. Marty
martylee
Several planes made passes over the town square. Amongst them the JU-52, Harvard and Spitfire. When the part in the city was over you could take the old bus up to Bangsbo fort. At the fort we were met by a german check point. Several vehicles and diaramas.
