Canuk 109
Hi all, Has anyone come across this before, was there a kit you could get for the jeep in the 60's-70's and where can you get the parts for them now. I must admit they are significantly better than original 9" brakes, if you don't mind going down that road. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Mal
Nick Johns
One of my Jeeps a '43 GPW has got the 11" brake conversion, Indeed it was a conversion kit, I hav'nt got around to looking at the brakes on it, yet to be restored, always assumed the kit was stock parts using the shoes and cylinders from a later model Jeep Edited April 3, 2011 by Nick Johns
Canuk 109
Cheers Nick, I have ID'ed the brakes, they are CJ5 , you can get parts from Light House Jeep parts in Norfolk, the parts are cheaper than WW2 jeep parts. The cost of putting the jeep back to the original way is around £500. I think i will keep the 11" system. Cheers, Mal
