ex pub landlord and now HGV class 2 driver by trade, just resettled in Southend

always tinkered with older cars and scooters, no pro skills as such just a handy amateur always willing to wield a spanner if anyone wants an extra pair of willing hands (and I can learn something in return)

dont have anything military at the moment but wouldnt mind an old lorry - found four ex French military vehicles on a trading estate when doing my HGV test and took loads of pics ( two TRM4000 flat beds, one Saviem fire engine SG% SP and one Midliner variant)

worked voluntarily at the East Essex Aviation Society and Museum in St Osyth for a while and dig a few digs with them, and one in Sna Francisco with a US group

primarily interested in model making - seen some excellent work on the forum - have worked for an aircraft modelling magazine as a reviewer and had work published in a US book series. I also make masters of models and cast them in resin to sell to kit makers - currently working on SdKfz 234 series in 1/72 scale - private one off work undertaken too in any scale - and I am hoping the obvious wealth of knowledge I have seen here will be useful in sorting out some of the equipment/mark/model queries that plague scale modellers as much as the full scale enthusiasts - also very interested in photography of aircraft and vehicles although i usually have to fight the missus for the camera

anyway enough waffle for now, sure I will bore you all with questions before long

Hi Paul

you dont know what you have just let your self in for

I am always looking for a helping hand with the truck (Morris C8 Quad) the kids are no help and I build models and am planing a 1/35th maybe biger if i can find the right tyre size. Build of her so your just in the nick of time !:cool2:

more than happy to help and learn, on themodel side, wheels and tyres for models can be made, I have made 1/43 car tyres in RTV black rubber, only need to make one and then cast from that, and to recoup costs you can make casts of all the bits and sell them on as a kit, my biggest problem so far has been getting reliable plans and sizes of the real thing but you dont have that issue
