Withams Landrovers

MiketheBike

Question

This has probably been covered many times before, but......

The 110's in the Withams auction? Generally good, or generally bad? Would obviously require a visit to check one out...do they normally go for the guide price, or is it worth a punt and placing a bid lower than the guide?

Just how easy is it to get one of these registered, is it quick and cheap? Are there any gotchas when getting them registered?

Thanks,

Mick

Go and have a look some of the Land rovers look good visually in withams pictures its only when you lift the bonnet, look in the back and look underneath that you realise how glad you were that you just didn't have a punt. Any Land rover at the ages that r in the tender now 1985 - 1994 will have rust on the chassis, it just depends on how much.

Its not unknown for bits to be missing from the engine (cylinder heads) and the like

Having looked at the pictures of Harley Davidson MT350's at Christmas and then seen the bikes I worked out that it would take two bikes to make one good one due to the missing parts.

Re the Harleys at Withams, we, and every other RLC regiment, backloaded all of ours last year and they were very low mileage (all well below 10K) and were well looked after and complete - I think someone down there has free reign to remove, take off and generally ass about with them before they go for sale or auction.

We have worked on some of the 110's from Withams, lets say they were in need of attention all round. cant think why the military got rid of them!
