Comms body side tents

I have purchased a quantity of side tent/shelters for the small comms bodies but they do not have all the aluminium poles with them. There seems to be 3 different length poles required of which I have the shorter 2. Does anybody know what the length of the pole should be which forms the near horizontal top of the shelter ?

Hello Antar,

 

You need 3 "container attachment tubes". I don't know the lenght they are (every thing over here is in "winter-storage"), but they have a special attachment to go into the hooks on the container.

 

So you don't need the one tube of your picture, neither the corners.

Its the type of fiting, the number of each type and the angle that I need. From that I should be able to cobble something up.

The posted drawing has the pole lengths and number of each required on it. I've compared my full my set to the drawing and it is the complete inventory. There are the odd poles that have a clip to attach to the side of the vehicle. Do you want pictures of those. I don't have the starining wires, but wonder if these are completly nesacary,

I must apologise, now i've put my glasses on I can read the writing on the drawing ! I did initially dismiss the drawing as the wrong one thinking the poles for the blackout curtains was another set of main poles.

 

I have none of the vehicle attaching poles, nor do I have the one vertical pole against the vehicle side. I do have 4 of the wire rope tensioner cables, but as you say they are not absolutely necessary.

 

I will get all the spiders and poles out next weekend and do some measuring.

Yeah its a weird layout, Still the beauty of this forum is we can all double check the obvious. The blackout curtains appear to be inside the end flaps. Trouble is I don't think any of us have all the actual parts to put one up! :argh:

well luckally i went to one of my suppliers dropzone and they had a set of the spiders and cables so now will be looking at how it all goes together in the next couple of days

hopefully will get photos as it goes up

nice poles, would you like to sell them. i've got all the fittings , all the canvas, some of the short poles

no chance but i am going to find out if there is a second set to make it fit on the top set of fittings and make it bigger so the field kitchen will fit under there

If you only need the poles or the extensions, it must be easy to find them at a place where they sell aluminium profiles.

 

Can't imagine that the diameter would not be standard.

If you go back to the beginning of the thread and look at the ones that I have they seem to be shorter, as if it is to fit on the 7'6" long comms bodys, does anyone have pole dimensions for that type ?

Also is there any chance of a detail photo of the clip / hook at the end of the pole which goes onto the body please ?
