Thanks for that Jon.

When we toook the GMC up to Aldbourne a couple weeks ago....our first major run out, I could relax a fair bit knowing that if I had problems then I could get out of trouble pretty, bit of a god send for £54.

Cheers

Jack.

Although I carry a vast amount of tools & spares with me. I have signed up to the under 7.5 tons scheme which is very reassuring and delighted that your company has seen this gap in the market.

Reading the booklet/card that came, I am unclear which phone number to use to actuate the service. Should it be the car number or the commercial number? Then I can programme this into my mobile.

Also what info do the helpline & recovery require? Just my name & address or membership no or a copy of the membership details?

Just thinking on to next year, any plans for a Roadsure calendar featuring some of your representatives :D

Hi Clive,

The telephone numbers to use if you have a breakdown are as follows

Military Heavy - TEL: 0854 3300141

Military Light - TEL: 0845 3300246

You will need to quote your name, address and vehicle registration number for the policy to be verified.

To be honest both numbers go to the same call centre but it allows us to monitor the number of calls to that specific number.

If you wish to purchase our Military Breakdown cover please call our team on 0845 4080016

As for a Roadsure Calendar I’ll see what I can do :-) ;-)

Good question Clive as I was unsure about that myself

Jack, I'm sure quite a lot of us were wondering if they were going to do a calendar 8)

Clive..............I was on about the numbers

Hi Jon,

Sounds like a great service! I just have one question,is it vehicle or driver specific,in other words as I have several vehicles do I need to pay £54 for each of them or as long as I'm driving are they covered?

Cheers,

Matt.

PS the calendar sounds like a good idea too!

Does the Heavy recovery service include trailers ?

I normally tow a drawbar trailer at 34t GTW and 55' overall length.

No problem if the recovery operator is using one of those sliding bogie trailers, they're designed to carry a 44t artic, but what if they turn up with an underlift expecting to do a suspended tow ?

Hi Matt,

Sorry but it is vehicle specific so it wont cover your other vehicles but i will bring it up with our Military team and we will see what we can do :-)

Regards

Hi Jon

This is a long overdue move and I really welcome it, but could I add my voice to the request you look at personal, rather than vehicle specific cover, since I own more than one "light class" vehicle but do not have a partner so would only ever be driving one vehicle on the road at a time.

Perhaps you could use an exclusion on personal cover which limits your exposure but enables me to call you out (hope not to of course) for different vehicles at different times - eg: cannot call out for vehicle B within x days of making a call out on vehicle A???? This might allow us to get there and back to a show with vehicle A (knowing we were covered for that trip) then break down while at the next show in vehicle B?

Not that I breakdown a lot of course

That's not much good to those of us that take multiple vehicles to the same show..I take at least two sometimes three & a piece artillery to a show..

I've made some investigations and it looks like we might soon have a discounted multi military vehicle breakdown policy!! no promises as yet but i'm seeing what i can do :-)

John,

Just signed up for the above quoted cover on my Alvis Stalwart - for peace of mind (or otherwise...) can you confirm the method of recovery if the vehicle cannot be repaired at roadside would be on a flatbed and not suspended tow as the 6x6 Alvis range (Saladin, Saracen, Stalwart & Salamander) cannot be towed, flat or suspended for anything other than very short distances.

Thanks!!!!
