fv1609
All types of latrines... Ah but how many & which ones are they? Could be embarassing to get them mixed up, could cause all sorts of unpleasantness. We are not at W&P now.

Or field sanitation stuff WW1 ? 1 bidet 2 Horse trough 3 mobile bucket type for hard ground 4 Dry type used with lime/earth to cover stuff 5 Bagatelle board 6 airing cupboard 7 washing/shaving for 8 people 8 wide board for scrubbing clothes clean on 9 treatment plant / septic tank 10 Bus shelter 11 showers 12 tanks on stillage for water pressure 13 sink with soakaway Edited July 30, 2009 by gritineye
fv1609
Well done GE, between the wars actually but I doubt that it would have changed much from WW1. You are correct on the following: 2 3 4 7 8 getting warm 10 getting warm 11 12 So you have 6 points (6 pointes) So these remain to be fully identified:

You are correct on: 8 washing up bench but you're close enough 9 yes for grease 13 So far you have scored 9 points (neuf pointes). You were closer to no. 10 with your first suggestion. In no.1 the curved bit is made of canvas. Yet to go:
gritineye
1 Bath didn't look big enough What did they want the used grease for surely it didn't matter if it went in the ground? Bet those drawings where drawn by a totally impractical person, I would like to see the detail for how you join a wriggley tin trough to a wriggley tin pipe, maybe use the old grease? fv1609
Nope, no. 1 isn't a bath as you say a bit small. I assume the grease extraction was prevent the grease clogging up the other soakaways. Maybe they used it for cooking the next day?
