  1. That's done it! Off for a run round tomorrow......excuse is to re-check out the smooothness of the tyres
  2. Brilliant! Can't help feeling a bit worried about the poor chap who the shed fell on though..an H&S roof would have helped him I think, very surprised that bit was left in as it seems to made for entertainment! How attitudes change.
  3. A chap I know managed to land the contract for removing redundant sirens from around the south east a few years ago, just needed a Hyab truck, and a fitter and a sparky. Was quite lucrative, poles went on ebay, sirens and cable scrapped for perks. Apparently they all had a heater coil round them to avoid freezing, these where permanently on and there was no meter, just connected straight to the power lines. One was fixed to a pole next to a small 50s style industrial estate, and when his chaps disconnected the assorted wires some very excited people started shouting "Oi you've cut off the power to the whole estate!" Seems some crafty landlord had spliced into the same connection since the 50s, bet he had his own meters in the industrial units though........
  4. My wife could see it from the lounge window......................... you know how they can say certain things without moving a muscle or making a sound, it'll be the same when I put the free Reliant Robin on the lawn tomorrow...:kissoncheek:
  5. Well that one seems to fit OK......
  6. On second thoughts, remembered that Rob built his own 4x2 box chassis, can't remember what running gear but it was 4x4. I remember him offering to lend one to a doubting competitor telling him to do his worst, it won't break. Been looking for a pic but no luck so far, I know I have one somewhere.
  7. Used to be made by Rob Bud of AWDC fame, on RR chassis I believe.
  8. Don't worry too much chaps, I'm pretty sure he hasn't got rid of the mega luxury corporate tour bus...............
  9. Top man Gary, sounds like this could be the answer to your prayers! It should not have been abused at all, nice find! You say it doesn't cough, has it got the same type of carbs? I just wondered as it wouldn't need an accelerator pump thingy in a static instalation? Does it have the same sump with the front scavenge pump for off road and steep down hills?
  10. This is good stuff, always interested to see the innards of these sort of things, keep 'em coming..
  11. Glad to know you're on the mend and back home Joris, Jack's been standing in for you, he's stuck a Band-Aid on here and there.....
  12. Sorry but not without taking them off the vehicle (all cable tied in) but the leads are as per the picture on the camera page, the camera one is about a foot or so long, the monitor one about three foot. Included with each item is a short power lead with a jack on one end and a stripped portion at the other, I used both a video and a power extension cable (connectors both ends) to reach the cab and then used the two other cables to connect to a 3amp fused cigar lighter plug to fit a socket on my 12v battery, just unplugs when not in use. Just be very sure of polarity here!!
  13. Dave, if it helps, I have an all electric fridge in my camper van, it will run for about 3 days and nights on a 115 ah leisure battery in the summer, without running the engine to charge battery. If you are able to put cold stuff from your house fridge in it saves power. A long cable may reduce performance though.
  14. My camper van (2003 Ducato) came with a factory fitted one, but this was already an old design, and as you say it is pretty useless a lot of the time, this newer type is just like looking at a small digital TV pin sharp.,
  15. Glad to be of service, I got the camera and monitor as in the links, they both have short leads and connectors fitted, you can order a leads to connect them together (look buy the buy now button on the camera page) the screen is very thin and can easily be hidden in an open cab with a little cunning.
  16. Sorry if this reads like advertising blurb, but I have no connection, just think it's a good product. I have just fitted this, (helps with the neck ache) there are cheaper around but these really do work well, great picture and works in low light, tiny and easily hidden so as not to spoil the looks. Perfect for hitching your trailer or when winching. For those who have every other essential accessory on their MV but have a birthday coming up! Very simple to fit but only 12v I'm afraid, I just used an old leisure battery I just had lying around, tiny power consumption. Various lengths cable available. http://www.parkingcameras.com/store/product.php?productid=127&cat=1&page=1&featured http://www.parkingcameras.com/store/product.php?productid=136&cat=2&page=1
  17. Silly boy! that would never work! Don't you know band-with is always reduced asymmetricaly?
  18. You're so right there Andy, now got time and patience to plan, assemble the right parts and tools, unhurried working is very satifying too! Happy Scammelling indeed! We'll be out and about quite a lot I think, see ya around.

  20. Now sold, going to a very good home. Thanks for the input chaps.
  21. Just like Sainsburys, as soon as you find something nice they stop selling it...........or is it just me?
  22. Never clean your teeth in the dark, Anusol lacks the minty zing and freshness of Colgate, or so they tell me........
  23. I bought them from a dealer at Beltring a couple of years ago, I think they came via Germany, not sure though.
  24. We're very happy to indulge you Ray, lots of little snippets we civilians are not familiar with, keep it coming....
