  1. That's very good, feel free to do the same to one of mine
  2. Glad we persuaded you to buy it, mostly because if you hadn't I would have had to! Love proper days out days like that, thanks for the excuse....
  3. Just looked up the small print on that Mike, it says 'Warranteed for 5 yrs or 500 yards whichever comes first'! I didn't think underwriters would know Scammell gearboxes that well...
  4. These tracks are now sold. I would have liked one on the front of Rugged Robin, but I didn't want to split a pair...
  5. Good answer Mike, that just about sums it up! When I rebuilt mine with the new parts I got from you, I checked every one of the 140 new needle bearings to get matched sets, there was a surprising amount of variation in size. Given the tight tolerances required it would only take a few oversize ones scattered about the journals to cause noise problems! All that careful work and four years later my box just is starting to make the top gear whine, although it takes a well trained ear to hear it, must be just about run in then!
  6. Spotted today not too sure if they are though..
  7. More pix... Attempting to free the clutch The pensive look on Madrat's face soon dissapeared when the Rolls petrol engine burst into life, but it returned again when a huge Andy-Scammell-Fowler induced back-fire blew the silencer apart!
  8. Hearing of a Martian in distress  and in fear of the gas axe, three forum members, from far flung parts of the kingdom, mounted a three pointed pincer movement to surprise and surround it in it's lair, and managed to negotiate it's release! :yay: Chief go getter at work The proud new owner
  9. Thanks for pointing that out Tony, I'd missed it, fascinating indeed, so many little details, like the spotter up his pole!
  10. He's a good crowd pleaser, always putting it on it's side like that, saw him do it on Slab Common once...
  11. Why not leave it as it is?......looks lovely... Have fun restoring it back to it's former glory, lots of pics please!
  12. Came across this, all a bit scary, if like me you use it for cleaning mucky metal. Article dated 2009. http://www.brewracin...es.com/id75.htm
  13. Enjoyed those vids, thanks for posting them..
  14. Not quite the ultimate I'm afraid Tony......speakers on loud chaps:bow: Something went wrong... I'm so hoping someone will trump this one too..
  15. A government warning said that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets, sleeping bag, extra clothing (including hat, scarf and gloves), 24 hour supply of food n drink, de-icer, rock salt, torch, tow rope, petrol can, first aid kit and jump leads. I looked a rite pratt on the bus this morning.
  16. Can't claim the find Jack, just passed on the link a mate sent me. A balanced collection I thought, lots of good pics of equipment , vehicles, ect. but with some rather sobering ones mixed in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hi and welcome jaces, just show swmbo this pic, it will convince her once and for all that you don't need a barn! If she's still not sure (can't imagine why) and needs more proof speak to Andy Fowler! With that out of the way you can nip out this evening and bag a Scammell, good luck! 18. I don't think this link has been posted here before: http://vmartois.forumactif.fr/t448-photos-en-vrac
  19. Looks great, very interesting to see it with the canvas cab on, which hardly seems to cover that awkward passenger seat, do you know if there was a name for that like "Stiff neck perch" or something?
