  1. Good work being done there..don't see many of that tread rear tyres, are they still OK?
  2. Thanks for going to all that trouble Clive, I had to read it couple of times before a full picture of the potential pitfalls of escalading appeared in my mind, somewhat complex detail indeed! I am constantly surprised by the new old things that can be learned on HMVF :-D
  3. Top man Clive, tomorrow will do though!
  4. Well got Andy! Clive we need illustrations, we still don't get what's supposed to happen...:nut: well I don't anyway..
  5. The only clue I can see is they are pulling black boxes..:-D
  6. Linking arms for crowd control? Elbows linked hands like that..
  7. OK then it's a Deathtesttickle, tickling the palm of someone showing no signs of life provokes a reaction that proves they are alive, however the tickling the other body areas covertly implied may indeed provoke a much stronger reaction!!
  8. Clive, as a matter of interest one has to right click, but peeking into the darker reaches of your mind is not for the fainthearted :shake:

    W.h.y?

A chap I met briefly a long time ago at a show, told he owned ten Scammells in various states of repair, all kept at different places with different 'landlords', they all gave him grief! All of this was somehow kept secret from his wife! Can't remember his name but it sure wasn't Mr Easylife...
  10. Interesting (fantastic) way the training wheels are operated by the rear brake torque arm, there must be some sort of speed related interlock mechanism too! I wonder if those wheels where fitted to counter the torque induced lean on take off, he seamed to have trouble veering onto the grass one time.
  11. Gardner engine, Robin box....sorted!
  12. Great minds etc. Tony, I've got a robin engine and box, but it doesn't seem worth the effort..Gardner makes much more sense, seems you are still hankering after your youthful ride, what happened to it? http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?30363-N-O-S-was-a-wild-youth!
  13. Well chaps have a look at this vid, it answers all (well most) of your questions! Something went wrong... And if you don't want one now you ain't right in the head!
  14. Yep that's fixed it, I can still smell the flux in there, good work with the soldering iron Jack! Sorry but you took so long I hacked into your office web cam to check on progress.. Did ya see what I did there..
  15. Had one in Series1 with V8 conversion, put up with that OK for 5 yrs, good bit of kit. They all leak oil around the selector rod, and take their oil from splash in the trans box, so if you drain one you need to re-fill it initially or it will run dry for a while, then re-check trans box oil. Manual says to just only use it in 3rd & top gears to avoid too much torque.
  16. Like....sorry couldn't help it
  17. Amuses kids, and me sadly... http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=304863000&mt=8
  18. So that's agreed then, we dislike the like button! Useful discussion though
  19. Very good point Joris, never thought of that angle, so maybe best not to bother with one.
  20. Neat fix Tom, glad it worked OK as you never know till you try things out, I always think vintage stuff doesn't sound quite right without a bit of a whine somewhere..
  21. Lee, yes but it's not just liking the thread as a whole, but a single posts that is particularly pleasing to read, and this could well be the only sensible or humorous reply amongst a whole thread of tiresome pedantic waffle.....errm I'll stop now.
