  1. You could also use air tool oil! Bit in the lines, what it's designed for.
  2. Not entirely mate, they were used by military and airborne early on!
  3. Nice little Brockhouse you have there, always been after a Welbike myself. these were used after the war, from 1948 onwards in various marks, and even in The White Helmets Display Team!!(Royal signals dispatch riders display team!!) Speak to Welbike on here, he can point you in right direction for parts and info. A great reference book to get is "From welbike to Corgi", by Peter Miller. Get revised adition its got a bit more in! Got mine on amazon. just had a little peek in the book of knowledge and your frame number makes yours a mark 2, from april 1948 - 1950, engine number should be between 16005 and 24146.
  4. A radiator specialist will replace the bottom pipes (stubs) and check radiator as part of the job if asked. Bin sitting for a while or not regularly used?? All that crud just sits in bottom half of radiator and engine block! Thats why even a vehicle thats laid up should be run up hot at least once a week, keep things circulated. Check condition of hoses too. they will rot from the inside out. I would change as a matter of course to be on the safe side. Thermostat not crudded up to??
  5. I haven't diagrams but if I can help just ask. I'm hydraulics engineer and work on both hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Got my enfields, stens, bren, k98's, think the most I paid was £250 and that was for the bren!!! Stens were £100, enfields £120 and k98 was £170!!! For extra £100 cud have got the bren in box, spare parts and mags!!!!! Just kicking myself down the street n round the block!!!!!

  13. Speak to a company called GB Hose (0161 728 1118) in Swinton. Friends of mine who do hydraulics, they will know of some. ask for Heather or Graham, tell them Paul from Rapid Hydraulics put you onto them!

  15. Is it MV???? Is it a true reprisention???? Not a prob mate, come on in...!:kissoncheek:
  16. We getting both on this thread....!!!!! I posted earlier about the proving a vehicle is military or the Tesco shop mondeo...! I was only going on what others have said and put my Tuppence worth on the line....Thank god it wasnt my neck!!!! LOL:blush: Olaf, if its support for an MV not a problem mate, no one is singling you out as the bad guy here, and we all know it costs a fortune to make the PILGRIMAGE from afar to W&P and other venues.:thanx: I was having a go at the Civvi driving a Civvi and marking it as a MV just to gain cheap access etc. They either taking the PEE or mocking the scene in my eyes! And as for putting a piece of cardboard in the window and saying "This is an MV...." If a vehicle is Ex- MOD then people will have papers to prove and not a problem, civvi landys done as MV`s I dont agree with as the real things are just as cheap to get and probably better improved etc. No one is having a bash at the fibreglass planes as they are obviously what they are meant to be....! The copy vehicles that have been built from just a chassis to represent a rare or obsolete one are just as hard to make, if not harder than the real thing..... not a problem! My gripe is where they get the works Transit Van (OR MONDEO!!!!!), bang a bit of tape on it to represent a vehicle that it isnt!:evil: By all means get the Mondeo, chop the back out into a makeshift pickup (UTE if your an Aussie!!) and plant a .30 cal n mount on the back, smash it to hell and daub a bit of graffitti on it to represent a Freedom Fighter, Rebel Forces, Guerrilla insurgent etc of the conflict you are depicting....I havent a prob with that either!!! all because they have put time, money, effort and thought into it!!!:saluting:
  17. My tuppence worth........(which doesnt go far nowadays....!) If you have an MV that is obviously "What it is" not a problem, ie; Armoured Car, Tank, Carrier etc. If you have a vehicle that also had a civvie version, Truck, Bike etc then its easy to bring some form of ID on it as most of have history on their machines! Its what we do, get the vehicle, restore the vehicle and search the history of the vehicle. Theres the other side of it tho, the ones that have built their own from another vehicle because either they cant find one or the cost of owning the real one such as the Private Ryan Tiger (Plywood???), RAF Armoured Car (From an LDV chassis I think!) etc. These are obvious tho, even to the uninformed, so i dont have a problem with these. I agree tho, getting the Ford Mondeo, taking your Tesco shop out of the boot and putting UN in black electric tape down the sides (or eben MP!! to get into a show is taking the p*ss!!! Dont shoot me down, just an opinion that i have and makes sense to someone else prob, but many many miles away I guess!!!!:undecided:
