  12. Wasn't much of German Fighter command based on ground based radio control? In order to send and receive orders and information from German radar's from their fighter command and the types of radio's they used weren't the fighters then limited in their range from the nearest radio transmitters on the French coast ? as was stated in earlier posts above, the greater risk already was the permanent loss of any pilot shot down over the British Isles , no friendly resistance group to help or hide any down enemy air crew's .
  13. Welcome aboard for a great time . I had watched the series of videos posted on you-tube about the sherman tank project Great Bit of Engineering and looks like a lot of fun ....... Should you finish up your very interesting scale CVRT make sure you stay out of the way of the likes of the Antars , Scammels and such that prowl the Parking lot of the club house as they tend not to see things as they manover about looking for parking places ...... :-D
  14. There were several combinations mounted in turrets on half tracks as anti-aircraft defence units the most well know it the quad mount of four fifty cal. heavy barreled browning machine guns others included a 37 mm auto- cannon with 1 fifty cal. heavy barrel browning machine gun. I think as shown in the second photo with a Water cooled barrel there were also 37 mm cannon combined with twin fifty cals. as well but air cooled the second photo looks identical to one on page 33 of the Osprey. Vanguard issue #33 of Us half-tracks of world war II
  15. Certainly the dump truck in the back ground of the photo is a GMC, but still agree with the closer one being a Diamond T.
