  5. The area round Schipol is very flat and wet, considering it's below sea level. Heathrow had at one time a hovercraft on test to get across the sewage feilds that are now under Terminal 5.
  6. Degsy, would ading two stroke oil affect the Octane rating? I'm wondering if this might be a good idea in gentral older motors. I have run my Gipsy and Landy's over the years on top ups from the chain saw two stroke mix with no apparent problems. satandard in them days was about 16:1
  7. On the maitience side, Robert Houghton's book, Run Away Someone's Coming gives the routine. 'The truck had to be kept clean', 'Once a month your truck had to undergo two inspections, at two weekly intervals, one by your section NCO and the other by company workshops'. If you had not carried out your daily maintience you laid yourself open to jankers'.
  8. Yes, welcome to the International Club House. Pul up a box and join in.
  9. It does look like a 'Confedential Book' safe. There were dozen's similar being thrown out when Woolwich Arsenal closed down. The ground use type are solid, the Naval ones have holes in so you can lob it over the side and it wil sink. Though with the weight of them how they were expected to float is beyond me.
  10. Welcome Simon, Garrison members? Somebody called? :-D
  11. It's the thought of a 40 ton Catweazle roaring around a showground at 40 mph that's frigtening me! :shake:
  12. No I agree with Snapper, but I like them with just a litle cream sauce. :-D
  13. You've got it all there mate! What a fabulous find! :yay: I like the 'Remote' steering, is that a feild mod?
  14. Escargot and chips appearing on the club house menu?:shake:
  15. Isn't there a surface coating used on high performance vehicles to aid heat disapation of manifolds etc?
  16. That will introduce Didz to the type of humour we expect then. :-D
  17. Except that a US ton and gallon are smaller. :-D
  18. Hi Didz, don't worry about those running down the Dodges, it's jelaousy.
  19. For those who did'nt se it. The Timewatch episode Queen Elizabeth's lost Guns. On BBC 2 Watch again. Worth a look. Salavage of cannon and the only complete Elizebethan matchlock from off Alderney. The team have built reproductions, and fired them.
  20. Tim, I know that there will be a lot of argument, but try a Brocquet catalyst, either in line or in the tank. I've had a lot of success with the same one, moved from car to car over the years. Out of intrest, what date is the manual you've quoted from?
  21. A friend of mine, who is well placed in the cruise, drifting type vehicle world, told me of a car that won the award for best vehicle at a very prestigious show. The body kit, wheels and ice fitted to the vehicle added up to some £100,00, (Yes one hunderd thousand pounds) Obviously you would take a lot of care of such a vehicle, and it was always trailered to events. Mind you, they had to really, seeing as it had no engine fitted.
