  2. The 4x4 Volvo or Subaru are far superior.
  3. Yes Mike. Front & rear fogs only work with dipped headlights.
  4. Bear in mind the number of specifications Land Rover did! Before the yuppy design crew got hold of them.
  5. At the start of episode one of Channel 4 's The Promise, thre is some black and white WW2 film. Part of the clip is of a Quad (I hate the term FAT it insults a suprb vehicle) with a sort of wooden basket built over the back carrying people. http://www.channel4.com/ The promise episode one about 9:47 in.
  6. Problems with recovery equipment: Lesson one...
  7. There were threetypes of axle available on series Land Rovers. Rover, two types, E.N.V. and Sailsbury. Rover diffs do go realativly often, and are quite easy to replace. They go through the front. Sailsbury are very strong, thankfully, they need a special spreader to strech the back of the diff housing for replacement.
  8. Yes and have a story to go with it!:-D But the residents there take their parking spots seriously!
  9. There were inert training ones available. They are filled with metal weight rings . One good point, you can open them up and take the weight out. Much easier for lugging about.
  10. Make sure you get a properly qualified person to issue an FFE certificate.
  11. Our domestic are 30 minutes after 5 1/2!

    Taxi !!!

Rosie was out in her red dress.. Then decided to take a cab home.:-D
  13. So the Goverment recommend that car drivers stop for a breack every 2 hours. L G. V. every 4 hours, stage fiare buses under Domestic rules FIVE and HALF HOURS!!! You work it out. C.P.C. don't even go there! Well I do. Its no use to anyone, but I've gone there, oddles of money pass hands and I get it. You cannot fail!
  14. I think he may have the wrong end of the stick about 'Sattilite Navigation'.
  15. But why are the side vent cowls open? Was it to warm? To quote the old joke 32 inch -28 inch and £3 a kilo!
  16. Very true. I plan to use the A25 from sevenoaks then cut a diagional down to the coast.
  17. I work on about twenty miles to the gallon. I'll be towing a trailer and there is normally a lot of kit in the back plus parading about in France involved. The suggested route from my place to Portsmouth is via M25 , A3. The M25 is not a pleasant drive in the Dodge, and the A3 Hindhead Tunnel project has caused hours of delay over the last few years. This time I'm going down a more easterly route. It adds about ten miles but is a lot easiaer.
  18. Yes, on the 101. Check that the brown power line into the switch has power at it. If you have the switch that has the ignition inside, there was an in service mod I have seen a lot of times where a more modern 6 way switch was mounted on a plate next to the instrument binacale.
  19. If you can practice compont assembly somewhere nice and comfortable with a good light before you start on the vehicle.
  20. At the moment guys more like £££ to the mile. :iamsmiling: The Dodge isn't bad. I can get just over twenty to the mile steady driving. One thing about a 67 year old vehicle, dosen't encourage fast acceleration or doing doughnuts. But every show visit is going to be a major finacial divison. There is stil the spectre of 'Fuel tax multiplier' hovering in April as well. Funnily enough I picked the Dodge up on the day of the major fuel strike all those years ago.
