  1. Yes there were blackout regulation in WW1, on the coast following German Naval bombardments and later due to the Zepplin raids. Try looking under D.O.R.A. The East Anglia Fil, Archive have a documentary made in the 1960 possibly early 70's on the Zepplin Raids. Worth watching as it has interviews with suvivours.
  2. Is this something to get Excorside about?

It was fine till Jack plugged in the lights on the tree! :-D

I've swopped from AOL to AOL desktop, some improvment. Maybe we shouldn't chat so much.
  5. You can't get the jammer to send a couple of thousand volts down the line can you? I've had to stop answering the phone except to recognisable numbers. Annoying as mine is an unlisted number!
  6. Even now the use of unit names and badging is very cavalier in the intelligence barnches. Equipment is bought or aquired under one name then used under another , also a lot of unofficial swops and disposal happens. I had a Two door Range Rover, left hand drive auto that was ex SAS, and I know a lot of people claim such things. Diffrence was I could back the claim up. As for getting the history, forget it. The best you might get is some bland generic paperwork.
  7. So many vehicles, so little time and money! :-D

    Wind!

Actually I've got the next 5 days off! Long weekeend rostered and a couple of lieu days I was owed. Last year we were off the road for only 1 day, mind you it made for some exciting driving, I needed a change of underpants on a couple of ocassions. :-D One of the guys, being sensible stopped at the top of Jewel Box Hill , which is on the outskirts of Biggin Hill. It's a narrow one in four, down into the valley then up another one in four. He got out to have a closer look and as he perred down, the bus started to overtake him! Just as well he was able to get back on and stop it, otherwise he could have hit the bus already stranded at the bottom. :-D
  11. i have a 1963 handbook for radio in B vehicles. I can scan and e mail pages to you if thats any help.

The dandruff is causing trouble as well! (Don't tell the neighbours but I'm looking for a snow bringing dance on the internet!:cool2: )
  13. Welcome Paul, your'e right you do live in a very nice place.
  14. What might sound a silly question, but does the vehicle have a full chassis number? Vehicles with a somewhat sneacky beacky history tend not to.
  15. Did the 6 pounder have a semi auto brech selection like the 2 pounder?
  16. Yes, but I see Jack's taste in vehicles has improved. Oh by the way mate, Green bit goes up (Thats TOWARD the ceiling).
  17. Larkspur was also a 19 set with added bits. That would fit the 1950's.
  18. Or to put it another way. Why would be looking? :cool2:

    Wind!

We've had a fair blow in our bit last night and today. The local roads through Paul's Wood were covered in debris, and a couple of big tress down in the local estate. Jersey got badly hammered as well. Gale warnings still on Met office for South East, and chance of snow over weekend. (WhoPPEEE!) If I don't get a chance to try my new snow chains I will be a very unhappy teddy.
  20. Might be worth have the dynamo out and do that at the same time. New bearings and brushes aren't that expensive. New belt an all maybe, stop the domino effect! :-D
