  1. I have seen torches of that type. Though I've always thought them a bit later then WW2.
  2. Mc Donald Frazer was out in Malaya. His auto biography Quarterd Safe out Here, great read, very funny . He mentions what he calls the 'Up you' Bird that drove everyone crazy at nights with it call.
  3. Welcome Simon, but never volunter! The club house toilets are due for inspection soon! :cool2:
  4. The best winter hidy hole I can think of is the back of a Wolf ambulance, especially if someone else is paying for the Eisperbacher fuel. :-D
  5. Yeah but at least I'm nuts in relitive comfort! :-D
  6. Well Mon V it actually means your ... $%^%^&&*$$£" CRAZY!!
  7. Welcome in. You won't be bored asnswering questions around here.
  8. You are still Elm Park ! (That's four stops past Barking)
  9. Welcome along , being a motormouth is not a bar to the Forum.
  10. Any entries from Vickers?:-D
  11. Yes, there are quite few around me. Blacksmith Lane also has one. I'll have to do some more eys on ground checking. Though the area has been re-developed. When the old police station was developed a couple of years back the old air raid shelter, quite a big beast, was pumped full of concrete and used as foundation.
  12. Yes very intresting site. I knew an ariel mine had fallen at St Mary Cray, 'The pit' as it became known is now the gas offices at the bottom at Lessons Hill, but not the other ones around the area.
  13. There was an awful lot of stuff, lost dumped and deliberatley forgotten about at Woolich Aresenal. I was there just as it was closing and did a lot of research into things for the Envoromental team. I doubt vehicles would have been buried. Scrap was far to valuable.
  14. Welcome, your Dad, he wasn't a mate of George Mc Donald Frazer by any chance? He mentions a bird (apperently it is actually a lizrd) that had a very anoying call.
  15. But we live in hope! :cool2: Chains, shovel, winch, M&S tyres fitted. If I get to work they got to pay me!
  16. Welcome in Jack. Nice to have some real old ones coming out into the light.
  17. I've thought the only QL that would fit in a Dak would be the Airfix version?:-D
  18. Welcome Rob, you're experince will no doubt be called on. Is the Land Warfare hall carrying on?
  19. Sometimes it just the weight of the charity bucket and the smile on the faces is enough. I've been lucky enough to do a number of events in UK and Europe where basic costs have been covered. They have still ended up costing me money, but, the friends the memories and the benifit to others that have resulted. As the Ad says Priceless! This discussion has come up before, Why do we own (or rather have in our care for a while) Military Vehicles? Part of the resposibility is to those who and still serve.
  20. Ah panic in the streets! The English Winterwonderland! :-D
