  1. Or the other answer 'You got it stuck! You dig it out!':-D
  2. The original guidance system for the Royal Engineers coastal defence torpedo?
  3. Tony B

    A photo.

Somebody would start chuntering 'You can't have that on a vehicle it is a danger to other road users! Years ago I had a very pretty girl with me in an open Austin Gipsy, she was wearing a very pale lemon yellow swimsuit. A hire car, Cortina (So that will give you an idea of age), came around the bend towards me with four male ocupants. Four heads swiviled in time to look at girl, and that is why the driver never noticed the granite wall. Though if we were gentelmen, we'd offer the poor girl a coat....eventually.
  4. The one thing I'd say on that. Check the countries regulations for running a truck over 3.5 MAM. Some don't like lorries at the weekend. Though a major part of the fun is getting the beast yourself. Dropping any hints as to what it is?
  5. Don't suppose you have details of constrctuion do you?:cool2:
  6. Areeee! Weell, these guys could have used it. :cool2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARJ5o3dleu0
  7. CS gas dispenser? Though solvents. Not an anti graffiti device surley?
  8. But with vented tops? Would you want the fumes around the cab? Now two chemiclas? Could it be, an early instant tyre reinflation device?
  9. He's off on the obscure hints again! So if it isn't for heating, is it for cooling? Or in cold conditions? What has come to mind is diicing fluids for a road railer.
  10. A lifebelt on the top may be of more practical use.
  11. OK a bit of logic. Two pipes coming from the area I'd expect the heater matrix to be. Then a tap in the circulation line. A pump and lines apparently going to fuel lines. So is it an artic heater or fuel preheat system? The only other time I've seen something similar was a bypass on hydrovac's so that the concousion of a gun firing on a Portee didn't destroy the vacum.
  12. Been there, soacking wet covered in mud!
  13. I must be very lucky. I just go to my local car shop and ask, may take till next day.
  14. Nice picture of the webbing kit as well.
  15. Yes, depending on the type of timing light you have. If it is a digital type, conect the lamp to a seperate 12 volt battery. Add a strap from the earth of the seperate battery to the chassis of the vehicle, then connect induction lead to number one lead. The beauty of this type is that once you have marked the timing points, the strobe will allow you to set the timing you want, then just move dizzy till they line up. I have a MAC timing light (Expensive but easy to use) I've used it on 6-12 and 24 volt vehicles no problem.
  16. I've found a photo of the Commer CB4, is that any use?
  17. They must have been **** hot to operate out there!
