  1. They look like Vickers guns, possibly captured after Dunkirk or supplied to Russia?
  2. Seriously thinkimg of a saw on three as they are past it. Trouble is there are two Firestone British NATO type that are usable, don't want to spoil them. I've got 5 new Michilin similar to the old Avon Traction Milage type. I know they are not NDC, but, as the vehicle is marked up for Pre D-Day in UK it would have run on 'Economy' tyres anyway. A mate has one of the Ex German ones, but dosen't quite fit a Dodge rim, does work though. Retriver, thanks for offer, but a bit far, though given me an idea, I can try the local agricultural place.
  3. I want to breack the bead! Not shatter the rim!:-D Actually though.... have words with our enginners. Most bus companies lease the tyres now (No kidding!) so we have a weekly visit from Michillin Man, who has his own cubby hole.
  4. Yes that is a Henchman type, the one I've been recommended but at around £225 ! :-(
  5. Most commercial tyre palces capable of handaling MV size tyres no seem extremly ansty over split rims. While we all know actually fitting the tyres is easy, it's breacking the bead in the first place! Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced DIY bead breacker?
  6. Then you need a Dakota to pull it. :-D
  7. Should be placed somewhere she would viewed with awe and envy!:-D
  8. Out of intrest, I've just had the back wheel off to sort out the coaster brake. I have one rough running ball race! (I don't know! Only lasting 70 odd years!) Inside the rim is a beautiful multi colour cotton ring to protoect the tube from the spokes. It must have been there for many years. When removed and I cleaned the rim, the original clour came up. It is the same dull matt green as the original finish on my folding bike. Black undercoat. As the bike is dated 1943, it should be the same colour at least for that year. Next thing is to try and get a sample mathced. NO! Not for sale, the next mission is as an advertising hoarding outside friend's Cafe to try and attract the local cycilists on a Sunday morning. :-D
  9. Ye Gods! He's got through another year! Now Old Friend, sit down quietly, will wrap you in a blanket and get you a nice cup of hot milk. :-D
  10. One of my local supliers is now offering this service. Basically it appears to be a pressure wash for the inside of the engine. I've e mailed the home company asking for more information, but has anyone any experience of this? http://www.terraclean.co.uk/
  11. Now that is caravaning, in style!:-D
  12. There was a place up by the Elephant & Castle (If coming out to the country gives you a nose bleed:-D ) Called Tippler's. They were very useful for odd mechanical kit and machining. http://www.londononline.co.uk/profiles/172145/
  13. One story, with illustrations, the pilot of an Auster describes flying bettween the trees of a Belgium road whilst shells from both sides were flying overhead. :-D The design was originally American by a company called Taylorcraft. Airfix made a model with wheels and Skis!
  14. Welcome in. Nice to see Harleys put in thier place for once.
  15. (That Jack knows of! :cool2:)
  16. Why is the windscreen covered inb specks? Ah well that is everyone sitting in the pilot seat going 'Brrrr'. :-D
  17. Welcome, please put all out of there misery and post a picture. :-D
  18. There are a couple of places, one in Dartford, that's on another thread somewhere, and Seal Enginnering near Sevenoaks. Not that far. Another thought. Land Rover have replacabale studs, and you can get the nuts to go on them. http://www.pegasusparts.co.uk/ourshop_90073/prod_1232814-561590-Stud-for-Road-Wheel-Nuts-916quot-BSF-Peen-type.html or these http://www.pegasusparts.co.uk/ourshop_90073/prod_1232817-561886-Stud-for-Road-Wheel-Nuts-916quot-BSF-Pullin-type.html
