  1. will be there with the QL, and if ready maybe my Morris Commercial will also make the trip .
  2. side plates in to primmer , now will need serious panel beating and some filler over the worst places .
  3. Sides from the last trailer have been sandblasted , ready for some primmer . Now the chassis is also with the blasters .
  4. Hello Ian. I can see on some of the pictures that this trailer had a bridge plate . It's a coincidence that on my resent 1 ton trailer there where markings where there where bridge plates fitted . There are holes in the front panel and right hand front panel. Guy.
  5. Trailer is completely stripped and of to be sandblasted . Took the home made axle from under the trailer and it was made of two front wheel hubs . These two hubs came from a military vehicle but I don't know from witch type . If interested these are surplus to me , with the two 20" wheels.
  6. ones the side is ready I will separate the top section from the chassis and deliver for sandblasting .
  7. Started to repair the bottom edge of the side plate work and removed some extra paint on the back number . It looks like the yellow and red bit on the number had a extra cote of paint on them and the number was changed . Is this modification a post-war change ??.
  8. I think that there is a slight difference between Bedford MW and QL carburettor but it is only around the fitting and engagement of the choke. I bought a new carb for my QL but had to use some parts from the choke system of the old QL carburettor. Guy.
  9. Had a good look at the trailer and as it is still so original (except the axle) I think I will rebuild this one and use the missing parts from my other project. Took the metal floor out that had been added by the previous owner.
  10. Under several layers of paint I found these inscriptions on the rear door. 96 must be REME , but division sign is not so clear . There where a lot of layers paint over each other but I can see some sky blue as a base colour.
  11. It was imposible to resist the temptation to collect a extra 1 ton trailer and surely for a nice price. But there are some tricky bits missing , axle have been modified with bigger wheels and the front hook and jockey wheel are missing. So if there are parts around just hive a shout. I still have a bad axle that I can repair , just missing one 13" wheel for it. Guy.
  12. Hello Hendrik. The second hand front windscreens came with fairly new rubbers. These screens came from John Morter , maybe you can check if he still have the rubbers in stock. Guy.
  13. I may have some stuff for Morris Commercial 4 cylinder engines. Bought a job lot engine bits. Guy Labbe
  14. As it looks you are on + 0.80 oversize with a piston of 72 mm. Standard bore on a 3HW is 70 mm , so it will be difficult to find a bigger oversize piston as 0.80 is really the maximum oversize you can find. Even if you tray to go over 72 mm the cylinder wall is getting really thin. Guy.
  15. Hello. Even in real scale it is not so easy to get asses to the engine, the cover in the cabin is the only bit that can be removed to reach the engine . So changing spark plugs are working on the engine is always a challenge, luckily the engine is well rebuild and don't hives match problems . Guy
  16. Think there is a trap in the Cabin floor to operate the pump lever , but will make some enqaries with the owner of this MWC.
  17. That's a picture from a MWC gearbox with PTO.Will have a look as there came a double chain pinion on bearings with my Morris , not sure if this was a original part.
  18. You are right , the same person has also a gearbox with this type of lever as on your picture .
  19. Hello. I was offered this Bedford Gearbox some time ago . Looks to have a PTO on the box.
  20. And now ready to start to paint some bits and putting everything back in to his place.
  21. A few extra day's on the Morris! Now I can start to repair the radio box with new wood as the frames are in a very bad shape, some rot and a completely bend structure. The floor looks good and think that it was replaced in the past . Took the drivers cabin of the chassis to replace just one plank on the floor and then will have this section a new coat of paint. Looks like the chassis was repainted an few years back.
  22. Hello, just will ad some pictures from this project that we will be working on together with my Morris Commercial C4 wireless. Will be great to have 2 of this really unique vehicles back on the road in the future . We are looking to made this C4 back in to a light warning truck ( radar ) but don't have match information witch equipment we will need to kit this one out . So all information is welcome. Found a real good engine for this project that had been standing for more than 30 year and after a complete strip to clean and check everything over we are assembling this one at the moment. The original engine had connecting rod bearing failure and as the crankshaft had a bad time I think that the most economic way will be to swap the engine over . Started also on the rear box as this one was not in great shape, there have been done some work in it the past, but not really up to standards. We will strip the sides and rebuild section by section as the hole side section is severely bend. The roof will come in for the same treatment as this was also rebuild but not really with right materials and style. So plenty of work and I also need to replicate the box for my Morris C4 W/T project that I will build up as a wireless model. The nice thing about these 2 W/T models is that bought came from the same contract N° : 23/6778 and under Cat. ref n°337. With a bit of investigation these two fall in between census numbers Z5832027 to Z5832356. So this one is 89 chassis numbers earlier than my project and one came from France and this on (if I am well informed ) Came from Norway.
  23. Hello Alex , indeed I have some information and pictures from Jaap de Wit his thread on MLU, but not everything on his project is as I like it. the panel work is not fitted as original and the roof is original covered with canvas and not in metal plate as Jaap did it . But no hard feelings he made a great job of it and I was very lucky he post some interesting pictures . Guy.
