  1. A little update ! Made little progress on the roof, a day work trial fitting and measuring and adjusting.
  2. The big wooden challenge! Started with the roof and what can I say, it's a dam complicated construction. Made the front , middle and rear roof cros members and need to adjust the middle one that all 3 are a bit in line. Then I need to make the extra 4 in-between once but these are fitted on the base planks with angled angled steel plate. It's a lot of thinking and measuring because on the sample box the roof section was really messed up.
  3. And now we are waiting to have the louvres been made on the top front panel and the rear panels I made a start on the roof section . The front panel is in place and now the box is permanently fitted to the chassis of the Morris .
  4. I am out of paint harder so tomorrow up to the paint shop that I can paint the front part of the box. Repaired the small cabinet that came with the other C4 , this cabinet hangs inside the box on the left front next to the wireless operator. There where big openings in the top panel where speakers were mounted by the previous owner.. There was also one side panel in plywood and replaced this one . On the sliding cabinet doors you still can see the original dark sand colour of the interior of these wireless boxes .
  5. Made the top plate work of the front section and now I need the help from a local custom car builder to make the louvres on to of this panel. 4 louvres for the front and while we are at it best to have these also made for the rear panels. Made the little roof panel where the aerial cables go out of the box to connect on to the antennas. Had some measurements from a c8 radio box that I inspected a few years ago.
  6. Side sections in place ! Now I can start with the front and ones in place it will be possible to move the complete box on to his right spot and bolt it on the chassis of the Morris..
  7. Left side panel also ready for mounting. And the cherry on the cake, contract plate back on a wireless box. Contract plate is from 1942 but is already for wireless body n°1 Mark III so the right one for the type of body I am reproducing . On the latter boxes it was only a stamped metal plate with all the details and not a brass plate. Maybe I will find the right one for a 1944 radio box and then can swap them . Just need to paint the brass plate , a bit to bright to my liking.
  8. Right-hand panel back on the floor section. These boxes where pre fabrication and all the section's bolt are screw together. Left-hand panel is also in to paint and will join the floor section tomorrow.
  9. Panel in to paint and map table back in place . Tomorrow some mickey mouse camouflage and then ready for mounting on the floor section.
  10. Right hand side of the wireless box in to primer together with the side table and it fittings .
  11. Right hand panel also ready, just a little bit more work on the cutout for ancillary generator cabinet. Now looking to spray some base coat over the panels.
  12. Panels on to front and left side, just have to make the top section of the front. On this part there are some louvres and these will be made by a friend that is in to construction of custom cars with the right skills.
  13. Hello. Don't the spring clips fit in to the elongated hole of the traficator ? Guy.
  14. After a very long period of inactivity on the Morris I made a fresh start. Change of work and some motorbike restorations stood in the way of big progress on the C4. Made a start to make the metal plate work that is fitted on the wooden structure of the wireless box . Front section and left-hand side in progress.
  15. working one one of these body's for my Wireless truck , then will start with the light warning one that's just a little bit different.
  16. Just to post this link for the Belgian liberation parade for September 2019, possible to link up with the 30 corps run .
  17. Get a bit desperate, it's a long wait for the metal panel work. Needed to fettle a bit on the rear body for ease of mind. Started to make wouden bits for the roof section , on the Sample body (late model) the front- centre and rear roof crossmember are complete in wood. This is made of two rounded bits and on to these side bits is fixed the roof crossmember. I will need to make 7 crossmembers and some have a metal reinforcement and the in between member are not fitted with wooden outsides but have a angled metal support , so in total I need to make 8 angled bits from metal for the roof and made a copy from a good crossmember and need to produce 6 extra crossmember from the model I made.
  18. had a little display with the Trailer , equipped as a battery charging unit. The Petter generator and 1250 Watt switch panel with some battery's . Pity that I don't have de lead that been used between the generator and switch panel. If I find the right electric cable I have a working battery charging combination .
  19. Original colour will be a problem on this vehicle, past throw so many hands and is for from original. The two vehicles that I am working on have seen a lot of modifications and on this one there is some very clear green base colour ( to bright to use in military service) So I presume the bright green was a base coat .
  20. If by coincidence there is some radar stuff for sale as in the pictures ( aerial, receiver , documentation) we are always interested.
  21. This is a link to a complete early warning set up, but the lorry is Fordson, very nice details in these pictures. http://roverjoe.com/eng/_FordsonWOT2/index.html
  22. For the moment very slow progress on the Morris , looking to put some metal plate on to the wooden construction . A friend will make the front and rear louvres in to the plate work but for the moment he is to match involved in building custom cars, Did fiend some nice seats for the radio box, one is the right radio operator seat with a folding back side the second one will go in to the early warning Morris.
