  1. Front section back in to place, next step is the bonnet.
  2. Congratulations, you picked up some very nice bits this last weekend, this will make a very nice set-up. Guy;)
  3. Looking great Ron, been thinking what oil tank can be a match for your project. It is really a square tank on the pictures and the only tank that is also square is the Norton 16H tank but still there will be a lot of modification on this type of tank if you want to make a copy for you Royal. Guy
  4. Hello Nick, if you come by a extra switch panel I am still looking for this thing . Collecting some bits for the radio box on my Morris wireless truck. Guy;)
  5. Radiator supports repaired , new rubber in between the metal bits and started to tackle the worst dents on the bonnet.
  6. You are a brave men to start on this thing ! I wish you luck, and if you need info just shout. This is a picture where you can see the rear step.
  7. you can just see the spare tyre on the roof !
  8. Then we are with two that are looking for more information, mine has chassis number 2202 C4 WT 3357. As some of the C4 wireless had run flat tyres there was no use for a spare, and if there were normal tyres used you can see on old pictures that the spare tyre was kept on top off the radio box. On the back you only have a step to go in to the radio box . There was a C4 in a option some time back and the rear was modified for a spare tyre, is this your C4 now. Guy
  9. Radiator in a fresh coat of paint and the front radiator cover also reddy for installation . But first need to repair the supports for the radiator , these are metal bits with rubber in between. We call it silent blocs to suspend the radiator. Made a jig for the supports and now these are off for some new rubber vulcanise in between the metal bits.
  10. Hello Nicky. You are right there are match resemblances on the rear radio equipment for a Morris C4 wireless combination. The power supply can go trough different power supply's , battery's , extra generator driven by the PTO of the gearbox are by a extra petrol driven generator . Did some investigation on the extra pto driven generator and it seems that it was a CAV type D5LA-22 and the regulator is CAV type 141/2. Think this type of dynamo mounted on to the chassis with the bracket you have in your pictures will be difficult to trace but I had a good look on my Bedford QL (ex R) and the screened dynamo is almost the same as the back one on are ws models. The only difference on the QLR dynamo are the fitting lugs to month it on to the engine and also to swivel the dynamo to tighten the V belt. The dynamo type on a QLR is ;CAV type DW 7X-8X and this type is perhaps easer to find and take of the mounting lugs and the driving will need some transformation to a flange for the generator drive shaft. If you come by these bits I am also looking for the extra dynamo, and the switch panel that go's in the back. On the picture you can see a QLR dynamo. GUY
  11. Hello, I have a pictures from the axillary generator on a Bedford QLR. but don't think it is the same dynamo, think it is a bigger model on the QL.
  12. Been collecting bits for the screened ignition. think I have the set up complete now ,screened distributor , coil, filter unit and screened high tension leads.
  13. Here are some measurements. 1- Angle iron horizontal on wooden cross members (L-pofile) 50x50 and 8 mm thick 2-vertical L profile is 45x45 and 5 mm thick . vertical profile is 885 mm long on the sides and the same re-enforcement iron is used under the floor. 3-Wooden cross members 115x 50 x2220 mm long and 4 pieces, front cross member ( just after the spare wheel carrier ) 115x50x 2130 mm All these measurements are in metric size and original it must be Imperial size but these day's the Imperial sizes are not available any more and surely not over here ! Hope that these measurements are off some help, you can always contact me for more information .. Guy
  14. Hello Neil, it is possible to hive you some measurements. Will post some information this evening. Guy
  15. Did myself a bit of research on this trailer today and I personally think it is a Belgian early post war mortar trailer but very match based on British design. Post war Belgian army had a lot of kit that resembles the British kit but then locally made. Guy
  16. Hello, collected this trailer in France yesterday and I am looking for some information on this model. Is a British war time trailer ? one thing is sure it came from the Belgian army and the construction is very close to a British trailer . Didn't find a chassis number are identification plate on the trailer and the tires are 7.50x16. Guy
  17. Reconditioned water pump by EP services back in place and the gearbox also back on to the engine. will also have a bit of work on the radiator duct, think the ventilator came louse in the past and did some damage to the duct.
  18. Just had my Morris commercial water pump rebuild by EP service. Good luck with the project , will have a drive in the back seat if reddy! :cheesy: Guy
  19. started to reassemble some bits around the engine.
  20. This was the bit of angle iron that was missing !
  21. Engine back on the chassis, it's really a tight fit to get the engine on its supports. when the front cabin section is in place, there is not match space left between the engine and front section. And don't forget to put the manifold back on the engine as I did ! If you do there are two solutions, take the engine back out are strip some angle iron on the front bulkhead..:cool2:
  22. Oil filter is in place and the cylinder head back on the engine. Fitted also the New old stock screened distributor I found on Beaulieu auto jumble last September , the C4 came from France with a radio type distributor but the screened top cover was missing. Also been at work on the passenger side foot well, had to ad a piece of missing thick metal plate on the back side off the foot well. The L profile used on the bottom off the foot well is off a size that's now longer available so had to cut a piece off U profile that is almost the same size. Luckily I found a side box, will need to reproduce this one as it is in a bad shape and now can lengthen the supports on the bottom off the side box. The supports where modified to fit tread plates on the breakdown truck.

Ordered my Lct ticket for the channel crossing with the Bedford QL in June 2019 for D-day remembrance;)
  24. Hello, if the steering wheel renovation was done by the same company that did my Bedford QL steering wheel it will start to crack after a few years of use ! Found a good second hand steering wheel for my QL and also for the Morris C4, these wheels are a bit ruff but will go on to the vehicles.
