  1. That comment had me a bit confused too !!!
  2. I am in Stockport, about 40 miles south east of Southport. Here are some pictures of the coupling sorry about the quality but there is a Crusader day cab sat on top of it. It was sandblasted and primed about 2 years ago. If you want it and you would like me to take it over to Grahams before or if convenient for me as you are collecting the Constructor let me know. I have also sent you a PM.
  3. Yep, but will have to do some searching !
  4. Let me know when you are going to Grahams to collect, depending when it is I may come over and take some pictures. I do not have a Scammell/Wild which would be the correct mechanical winch for this truck, but if you want a later hydraulic one I do have an ex-Crusader Plummett complete with hydraulic tank and spool valve. John Riley.
  5. Just to close the loop here is a picture of my Antar Mk3a as it was delivered to Mervyn Annetts, and then a picture of the two together before Mervyn drove the Mk2 down to the docks. John Riley.
  6. If you do win the bidding, and decide to collect it on suspend tow do not forget to allow plenty of time to disconnect those 2 rear props. With regards to the weight suggested earlier, as it is a Super Constructor I think the weight will be nearer 15 tonnes. Should you require a 5th wheel coupling to go on it let me know as I have an ex-Crusader 35T tractor one avaliable (3.5 inch pin) complete with its mounting frame which will easily modify to fit. John.
  7. "Like a car with twice the power" who you trying to kid ?
  8. ANY, just want to see it !
  9. Where are the pictures ?
  10. That is now with Dave Weedon in York. Its a little bit erie Mike but I think that the picture you posted the other day of the Dingo ballast in the DT was my old Dingo too.... John.
  11. There is a complete tractor and trailer knocking about somwhere, I think it is in the South Yorkshire area, perhaps try the MVT ? John
  12. Hey, that me at the Basingstoke festival of transport in my old ANTAR !!!
  13. Martian clutches are notorious for sticking due to the clutch housing vent bieng at the top of the bell housing. If stood outside for long periods of time rain and condensation would drip in and run through the twin plate assembly. There was a modification to put a cover plate over the top to try and stop this happening. The other trick was to wedge a stick between the clutch pedal and the steering wheel so that the pedal was partially depressed keeping the plates and intermediate plate apart. I am sure the plates will be avaliable as they were 12" Borg &Beck, not so sure where you will find an intermediate plate though. They may be the same as Stalwart ? John.
  14. Mike Pickups number 01782 724054, I think that is his work number.

    John Riley

  15. Hi Mike, as you quite rightly say Mervyn Annets has my old ANTAR Mk3a with the ballast box still on it, i have given Mervyns number to the person who is asking for the information (im sure it will be the same person). I do have a very old number for Mike Pickup which I will PM to you. John.
  16. Just picking up on your comment about putting a diesel in a Reo, it already is diesel (multifuels will run on anything between petrol and diesel). DOES YOUR LIVING VAN HAVE AIR BRAKES ? YOU HAVE ALSO GOT TO CONCIDER STOPPING AS WELL AS GOING !
  17. couple up your compressor to the FRONT RED palm coupling, it will save you idling the truck whilst you play with the diff locks. It will also save your lungs and eyes, it is a Rolls Eagle !!!
  18. That would be the ANTAR belonging to Kevin Reiley ? with his DT alongside ?
  19. Would also like to see pictures as I visited Pukapunyal in 1990 and photographed a number of the contractors based there. Not to be pedantic but it is always MM and LL, SCAMMELL that is. John.
  20. Did anybody spot the Explorer towing frame strapped to the crane framework !
  21. Thanks Andy, Just interested that it turned up John
  22. Having been back and looked at it again, how does that intercooler work, It seems to have a water jacket around the inlet manifold ? surely that would warm up the inlet air not cool it ? am I losing the plot ? John.
  23. Did it turn up, if so has anybody any pictures of it in action ?
