  1. What is the max weight in the uk for artc's also how does the axle weight of the tractor unit and trailer work ?
  2. Any suggestions on a reasonable reversible air drill which would do for screw driving and drilling up to something like 10mm ish
  3. Have you let the orgaisers know ? this would be your best bet and confirm any issues with access but you probably know that !!!!
  4. As far as I have been told its wide enough to get anything in !!! Are you talking about the one which was up at Horndean 2 or 3 years ago ?
  5. Why....... what you bringing ! I can find out for you.
  6. No Clive no offence at all just did not want the thread to get side tracked into other discussions like sometimes happens and for people to get confused as to where it now is, but you mentioning about bumping back to the top when someone posts is something I had not even given a thought so that might be the best way to keep it at the top so people see it. Thanks for the idea :cool2:
  7. Ah but how much was 380,000 in the late 50's early 60's when it came about !!!!!!! how would that work out in today's ratios ?
  8. Are a shock wrench..... mmmm very handy bit of kit I wont use anything else to do the wheel nuts up.
  9. Just a daft thought don't forget the wheel nuts down the left side of the truck ( as you sit in it ) are LEFT HANDED undo clockwise :nut:
  10. Yup thats great, looks like I have most of the bits missing, so I need items 23, 29, 30, 31 and 32 any one out there got these bits they don't want ?
  11. For a few years it did roll so the 25 year moved forward each year but at 1973 they stopped it !!!
  12. I have been asked to emphasise the point by the show organisers to potential entrants who might not know the venue has changed location. Not as a thread to discuss past show sites. SO PLEASE NOTE THE 2011 OVERLORD SHOW WHICH WAS A HORNDEAN IS NOW AT THE LAWNS OFF FOREST ROAD IN DENMEAD. PLEASE SEE MY FIRST POST FOR ADDRESS AND GOOGLE LINK TO EXACT LOCATION ALSO CONTACT DETAILS FOR BOOKING IN. THANKS VERY MUCH
  13. You should have had a PM from Rosie for 4 of us !
  14. Ah well, now that's a long time ago...... I think its about 2 or 3 miles can't really remember where the old field was exactly. But have been told it's regularly used for large car boot events throughout the year with no problems.
  15. As a rough guide the front of a CCKW is heavier when jacking one front wheel as you are acting directly on the weight on that side, but on the rear when you jack one rear wheel up you are jacking half the weight on that side because of the inverse leaf spring acting on both axles like a sea-saw. An important thing to remember is steel on steel will slip much easier than it will with a piece of timber between. Also if leaving on stands for some time make sure they are near to the spring seats.

  17. So would they be justified to refuse an MOT if you wanted to use it commercially ?
  18. Yes of course, but if the vehicle has never had any maintenance before and never been on the road then it would be maintenance which would been done so to determine that that maintenance is satisfactory....:nut: :cheesy: Well anyway I think I know what I mean...
  19. Oh I thought that Plating was the commercial version of a car MOT seems its not. So what I meant to say then was MOT. :-)
  20. So if you had a pre 1960 HGV you don't need an HGV license but is there a weight limit on this or could you drive ... say an Antar :nut:
  21. All very confusing :nut: So in days gone by how did the likes of Wynes ect tow masive loads with what would be a or several very small trucks. Am I right in thinking that there is no law which covers the max load a vehicle can tow ? (something I have been told a while ago) !!!!!
  22. Ahh so this is why people are getting stopped in say a car towing a large trailer with a car on it as this would lightly be over the tow capacity of the tow car :nut:
  23. Such as Land Rovers and Range Rovers good to 3500Kg's. ??? I thought that the max towing capacity of a 50mm ball and catch was 3500Kg have seen trailer catches rated to this but not over that.
