  1. I need your help. Im trying to find a hi-res line drawing/blueprint of the side profile or front of a willys/gpw jeep. It has to be good quality and quite hi-res. The reason? Trying out an experiment using a state of the art laser cutter via a friend at Crabfield University. If we can get a good enough image to use I will post a pic on here of the final result. Can you pm me, or post here if you have something. Thanks.
  2. Thank you. Vimy Ridge area, near Lens, May /June. S.L.I. Base camp of Ablain St Nazaire and Souchez. Principally the battlefront line at Lievin near Lens. Im a newcomer to this trenchmap lark, I dont know where to look!
  3. Im looking for a trench map of the Lens area spring 1918. Can anyone help?
  4. Autoglym. Rubber and Vinyl Care, finish off with Tyre Dressing. Its what the queen uses.
  5. You get a red leather bound "Testers instruction manual" courtesy of VOSA, a limited edition published by the Pathfinder Corporation. You can use it to block out the draught coming from the window in the Gents.:-D
  6. Ive been given boxes of the family photos and documents. There are a number of military related photos. Im trying to find out about a uniform someone is wearing which , by my reckoning must be 1800's, so possibly Crimean. Can anyone recommend a website or book that may help in identification. Ta.
  7. Plenty of Morris stuff on here. Manuals readily available. Im sure there is even a restoration blog on here somewhere...
  8. Ah, thanks for that Hanno, the photo I have is tiny and none too clear!
  9. More CS8 than C8. Ive come across what is described as a 1940 Morris CS8 recovery truck. Is this likely to be a post war civvy conversion or was it an official vehicle?
  10. The family and I will be at Stoke Goldington with the Champ. Say hello if you see us.
  11. Hello Nigel, not too far away from you down in sunny MK. Always considered buying a 181, nice looking vehicle.
  12. Not familiar with your system Mike, but possible bad earth?
  13. No I didnt notice the missing headlamps Phil. The gearbox and axle should be fine unless you are very unlucky. The engine might just want freeing off. When I got hold of my old one it had sat in a field for many years. We just drained the water and gunk out of the gearbox and axle, took the head off and decoked it and it ran fine. The only money spent on the engine was a new head gasket, spark plugs and an Jolley kit for the dizzy. As for the electrics, voltage reg etc, they come up regularly on ebay and are fairly generic.
  14. That is bad! The hardest and most expensive bit to do on that would be the cab and engine panels. You would have to be a)very dedicated b)have money and time to burn, or c) be slightly off your rocker! Good for spares though
  15. I only seem to have half a photo on some pages.

  17. What thickness plate are you using and where did you get the plans to make the plate panels?
  18. Glad to see its not going to ruin. Dont know of any other WW1 airbases which have been restored.
  19. Sounds like a definite dizzy problem. My next move would be to take the dizzy out and check for wear or anything broken on the internal engine side. I know you dont like to Jules, but maybe the Electronic ignition may a route to problem solving?

I think we have been here before. John has answered the question. As a supplier for various things, we have had to pass on price increases. The price of fuel is going up, raw materials etc, etc. Not to mention the, oh so generous VAT decrease/increase.
  21. Pinking could be down to something simple like dizzy out of adjustment, points? Sounds like a timing problem though, agreed. Check dizzy first, its easier. Have you got a Jolley EI kit fitted, I know you dont like them but its troublefree and easy to fit.
