  1. Hi all, I'm Nigel from Northamptonshire and I drive a 1969 ex Bundeswehr VW181 (Trekker).

Hello mate, didn't know you were on this forum. I had the Trekker parked next to you at Big Bang Good to meet you and have a chat and we'll have to try and get a military display at a vw show some time maybe? We have added an Iltis section to our Trekker forum too if anybody is interested? http://www.vwtrekker.co.uk/
  3. We used to use them in the ACF back in late 80's and 90's, fantastic weapon and I loved it. They were indestructible unlike the L98's (cadet version of the SA80) which used to jam at every opportunity and lose magazines in the middle of an exercise
  4. I'll be there in the Trekker, nice and local for me
  5. Well I managed to fix the Eberspacher, traced it to a loose fuse inside a relay so I'm nice and toasty now:-D Painting is almost all done now
  6. Mine stopped working suddenly so I'll have to have a look when I have time. Here's a trouble shooting guide if you need one http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/bn4troubleshooting.php A parts list http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/bn4partslist.php
  7. Made a start today Managed to do passenger side And the rear I'm quite pleased with the shade, it's quite close to the original. I've only done 1 coat with a roller and brush and it's come up up ok. It's no show winner.....more like a 10 foot paint job :-D Just the other side and the interior to finish now.
  8. Thanks chaps You should get one Rick, they are a lot of fun. I'm looking for some 15" off road tyres and just ordered some satin paint in a darker shade to try and obtain a more "factory look"
  9. Hi all I'm new to your forum and own a 1969 VW 181. I've been into VWs since a I was a lad and always had an interest in military vehicles and equipment.
