  1. I have had a chat with the manager and security - we are welcome to park whatever there but we have to fight off the normal (I use this word loosely) customers for the best parking. So me and himself are going to be there before the store opens at 9am and take up as much room as we can so hopefully we can just do a bit of budging up when you arrive. Also have just been told that Tynham church will be holding a remembrance day service at 3pm on Sunday. They have a full church, band, loads of Joe public, the works. If the weather is nice on Sunday we could maybe mosey on down there after lunch ? There is only 2 services a year held at Tynham church - remembrance day and a service some time in August.
  2. So if 5 in a team - Jack Mrs Jack Lawson Hardyferret Mrs Hardyferret AWSOME Actually Jack's family amount to team on their own! We've got it in the bag  :-D :yay: :dancinggirls: :yay: :-D
  3. :-D OK I have finally got somewhere for us to collect on Saturday 10th November - PC World, Wessex Gate Retail Park, POOLE BH15 3TE. Must be honest thought I was banging my head against the wall for no reason  and then.............knock on the door 'have you got an military vehicle and like to help us collect for the Poppy appeal' :yay: :yay: :dancinggirls: :yay: :yay: We will be there from 9 am with the Pig, and any one who wishes to join us for and hour or two is very welcome.
  4. Hi there Lindsey  You are very welcome here - us girls need to keep these guys on their toes. They get all puffed up on testosterone driving their 'Man Trucks'. Some of them find it rather difficult to accept when one of us girlies drives a vehicle bigger than a Fiat Punto - :-o What,..... you drive that.......what on the road.................. :deal: By the way all ladies are excused any club house duties, other than getting comfly in the best seats and keeping an eye on the quality of the beverages in the bar, so don't let Jack try and fool you into doing any cooking or worse - cleaning. We all do enough of that in our day jobs. Have fun
  5. As stated in the other thread - we will be there with pig and/or IIa lightweight if he gets the total restorationson done in time. Jerry is in hard training already for the skittles :box: you know how competitive he is. The date is marked on next years planner in large indelible letters - so it is nonnegotiable. :-D Perhaps I should mention at this point that I will not be held responsible for any 'Jolly Japes' or such like that my husband may get up to once he is loose on the plain :dunno: you have been warned.
  6. the power of the 'select little clique'
  7. don't give up. Have a word with your local picture/fine art framer. Most of them deal with framing textiles and all of them (if they are worth their salt) know about conservation grade materials for mounts and backing boards. I have used materials for framing from Great Art & Lion - both are on the web. Its a shame to have interesting things stashed away in a box.
  8. And I thought those photo's where just for the family album..........

  11. Having just read all the posts on 'A sad ending. WWI memorial' I would like to propose a board for any one trying to trace history of persons / units :dunno: I have been trying to research a certain person through his service time in WWII and would have liked to pick the brains of HMVF first. What does any one else think :?

  13. Hi Clive  Step on in and make yourself at home - you will fit in just right here this is the home of projects............ future, current and past. Usually someone will ask you to post some pic's of you vehicles.................. Please, please, please don't post a pic of the squirt pig. I am appealing to your good nature here. If Hardyferret sees it I will have hours of tantrums and threats of him screaming till he makes himself sick ........... :shake: all because I won't agree to him buying another pig - especially a squirting one. My peacefull existence is in your hands. :redfaced: Yours pleadingly Mrs HF
  14. Location is the Old Cordite factory at Holton Heath, Near Wareham in Dorset. The site was last used as Admiralty Research Establishment. Had to stop watching the programme............... Woman in the Typhus hospital was to be given an injection, She went mad and attacked the nurse. When a new nurse asked why she reacted so,the reply was the patient thought the injection was benzin - the germans injected them with benzine so they would burn faster
  15. It's OK for you lot :dunno: You can just switch on, log on and enjoy the fun, maybe wind poor old HF up a bit, and then log off when you've had enough. But me...................... I'm maried to him :shake: I cant log off.................. I wake up in the early hours of the morning and what do I see..... :shake:... :schocked:
