  1. Hi Jack Thanks for the info :thankyou:. Yes Himself will be back,. They are shedualed to get back this Tuesday evening.............. Unless the others get fed up with his practical jokes and they all get cravings for Fish and Chips
  2. Jack have you any details as to time to turn up, programme, can we come just for one day etc - :? :? - the old man has gone of for a jolly boys outing to Arnehm    and I want to make some plans to come.
  3. Go for it Steve. Just a thought - but you could try changing the depth of field on some shots so as to blur the background as it can be distracting - or maybe use something like Photoshop to digitally do the job. What ever have fun :yay!: PS don't forget than black & White or Sepia can add great atmosphere.
  4. OOOPS :? :? not quite got the hang of this photo in the post thing - must be something to do with the colour of my hair :-P :? :yay!:
  5. Some great shots. I like to try and find different view and angles too and framing can be fun. My favorite is to catch candid shots. This one was taken at Buckfastliegh, just before we pulled out on the run up to Widdicombe. [attachment deleted by admin]
  6. Hi T20 Welcome - I hope you enjoy the site, its great here, loads of interesting topics, all interspersed with great humour, : :-D :-D any one can chat about anything here (within reason and decency) :nono: :n00b: :naughty:so is there anything else you would like to share about the antics of yourself and Hardyferret, oh and mustn't forget Borat???????????????? :naughty:
  7. Hardyferret will be there, having peeled the soft blankie of the ferrets pampered armour and pushed yours truly up into the turret. Maybe we can look more at the idea of going of to a pub after and having some lunch ....if anyone else is interested. :greatidea:
  8. Just realized that I have not introduced myself properly, so if anyone is interested - Married to hardyferret for the last 7 years. Born in Dorset, Now live in Holton Heath in Dorset. Have always been around motors of one sort or another, working in garages in the area and having previously been married to a good motor mechanic, who for a bit of fun put a 3 litre V6 engine into a 105E Ford Anglia without beating the whole thing to shreds or changing the outward appearance. He then gave it to me and I had great fun watching the faces of other motorists especially Mexico and RS200 drivers (in my rear view mirror). :naughty: I personally do not own any green machines (but my lawyer said he can soon change that if Hardyferret plays up) I don't want to put the old man in the shade so I take a supporting role in his activity - quite literally on some occasions during different restorations. I do enjoy some of the events that we attend and have met some great people through this past time, and look forward to meeting a whole load more. So when a Ferret MK 2/3 in Cyprus Green & Sand goes by With a long suffering femail perched in the turret madly waving her arms about and jabbering away on her head set - give us a wave  :yay!: :yay!:
  9. My information as to the firing rate of Two of the Brens that we use for displays is as follows - Bren light machine-gun Mk i Calibre - .303-inch. Weight – 22.2 lbs (10.kg). Ammunition – 30 round boxes. Maximum rate of fire – 450 - 550 rpm. Bren light machine-gun Mk ii Calibre - .303-inch. Weight – 23.3 lbs (10.5kg). Ammunition – 30 round boxes. Maximum rate of fire – 450 - 550 rpm. Year of manufacture - 1942. And the Tripod - Bren tripod Low Level mount used for sustained fire over a fixed arc High mount used for anti-aircraft with 100 round drum magazine. There. I may be discribed on occasions as " a wooley headed floosey" by my other half, but I do know some stuff.
  10. Hi Redrover6 The best types of oils for a ferret are - Engine - straight 30 engine oil Gearbox - Straight 30 engine oil Transfer, steering and bevel boxes, also hubs all use EP90 gear oil If you need fluid flywheel oil Hardyferret has lots. Hope that helps
  11. Well done to Lynne I think that is over and above the call of duty. It all very well having you hair done on a special day but when the preparations have to start at least 12 hours before hand!! The end result looked very good. I too had long straight and not very thick hair - I was born that way but my mother had ordered a little girl with curly hair. Not a problem to my mother she just used to put me to bed with those awful spiky plastic rollers in my hair and in the morning - Hey presto - Young girl (7-8 years old) with sore head and bent hair. Run the comb through it and instantly straight again!!! To compound matters my aunt was a hairdresser so it was soon decided that my mothers little cherub should have a twink (showing my age here) perm. This could account for the way I am today. :?
  12. quote author=Jack link=topic=1997.msg14859#msg14859 date=1156712972] Hi Ashley. You want to join the Sad Lads??? .....its all about driving and having fun! I can second that. If the inaugural meeting is anything to go by. Its amazing what a good time you can have gathered round the back of a GMC!!! When are we going to do it again. It had better be soon, or him indoors will have the ferret all wrapped up in its lovely soft blankie and safely back in the garage. Bye the way, GREAT SADNESS:cry:   Hardyferret lost his UN pennant on the way home from Henstridge. I thought we were going to have to turn round and drive all the way back to look for it :? :? :?[
